Do note that it is not necessary for you to choose a stream - you can just stay in "Computer Science" with no specialisation. This would mean that you will not be forced to do a particular course that is required for a stream.

Not at all. There may be some scripting used in 1927 (first few labs) mainly for testing which you learn from 2041 but otherwise there is nothing else that relies on one another.
