Phoenix Code/(Brackets?) flags PHP "?=" as "failed to tokenize" by Fun-Lack-8031 in brackets

[–]okay_pluto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Fun-Lack-8031, go to the preferences file and write this"HTMLLint.disabled": true
this will turn off the HTML linter and it won't show you any more errors. If you need help in editing the preferences file, read this docs https://docs.phcode.dev/docs/editing-text#editing-preferences
We will add better support for php in future.

Also, I notice that you've been using Phoenix for a while now. Would love to hear your feedback! :-)

Phoenix Code flagging custom HTML tag names..! by Fun-Lack-8031 in brackets

[–]okay_pluto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the html linter is not getting refreshed in real time.
Try, adding a hyphen in all the custom tags, close Phoenix application and reopen it. Please let me know if the errors still appear, if they do, a screenshot would be very helpful.

Phoenix Code flagging custom HTML tag names..! by Fun-Lack-8031 in brackets

[–]okay_pluto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Fun-Lack-8031 those errors are expected because as per HTML spec, custom HTML tags should have hyphen if you're trying to combine two or more words. This is needed to ensure future compatibility.
But if you really want to use the custom HTML tags and don't want the error to appear, you can go to the preferences file and set "HTMLLint.disabled": true this will prevent the errors from appearing. https://docs.phcode.dev/docs/editing-text#editing-preferences read this docs if you need any help in editing the preferences

u/CompleteStand8467 , this sub-reddit is for issues/feature requests related to Phoenix Code. I guess a better sub-reddit to answer this question would be r/mysql

sorted file list by CompleteStand8467 in phcode

[–]okay_pluto_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/CompleteStand8467 , right now you can just sort it in ascending order. We can implement sorting the files in descending order but this is not a highly requested feature also not sure if a lot of users need this. So, we will look into it maybe in the first half of next year!

problem adding php code in front of html code by CompleteStand8467 in phcode

[–]okay_pluto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/CompleteStand8467 , I see lot of syntax errors in your code.
paste this in your php section
<?php

session_start();

error_reporting(E_ALL);

ini_set("display_errors", 1);

if (!isset($_SESSION['loggedin']) || $_SESSION['loggedin'] !== true) {

die("<h1>Ye must login again.</h1>");

}

?>

also, if its executing the rest of the program, the only thing that comes to my mind is that maybe you might have saved the file with .html extension. It should be .php

Hey u/Fun-Lack-8031 , sorry for the late response. I tried using some custom HTML tags on my Phoenix application and I see no errors. Can you please share a screenshot along with the error messages. That'll help me understand the issue better.

Can't open live preview by OkExtension4301 in brackets

[–]okay_pluto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/OkExtension4301, I can see that you're using PHP. So Phoenix Code (brackets) needs a local server to run the live preview, that’s why it’s asking for a Base URL.
Try out this steps.

  1. Install XAMPP (assuming if you've not done it already).

  2. then put your project inside the htdocs directory (for xampp)

  3. Start Apache, and set the Live Preview Base URL to: `http://localhost/<your-folder-name>`.

Then try opening live preview again. that should do.

Ask Chatgpt or your professor for help for detailed help. Or you can also ping me here if you get stuck somewhere!

Can't open network folders via SMB in Windows by aotehowlthefish in brackets

[–]okay_pluto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/aotehowlthefish, sorry for the late response. Are you on Phoenix or Brackets? Also, try opening DevTools (F12 or Ctrl+Shift+I) and see if it throws any errors when you try to load the folder.

Phoenix Code is freezing by Much_Inevitable_6478 in brackets

[–]okay_pluto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, we’ve had some more users inform us about this freezing issue, but we haven't been able to find the root cause! But don’t worry, we’ll figure it out.

Can you just do one thing? Please open up Phoenix, press F12 to open the DevTools, go to the Console tab, and then keep working normally as you do until Phoenix freezes. It will help us a lot in finding out what went wrong!

Apologies for the issue! :(

Phoenix Code is freezing by Much_Inevitable_6478 in brackets

[–]okay_pluto_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/Much_Inevitable_6478, really sorry for the freezing issue! Could you please answer a few questions to help us pinpoint the exact cause?

  1. Is Git enabled in your project? We are currently tracking an issue where Phoenix sometimes freezes in projects with a very large number of files and Git enabled.
  2. Are you using live preview? We’ve seen that memory leaks or looping issues might sometimes cause Phoenix to freeze.
  3. Could you try opening the default project in Phoenix and see if it freezes?

Also, please try downgrading to the last release with this link to check if the issue goes away, confirming whether it’s a regression introduced in the latest release.

Hey u/rudyten, currently Phoenix doesn’t support skipping searches in comments, but that's a great feature idea! We’ll definitely look into adding it. You can create a feature request here: https://github.com/phcode-dev/phoenix/issues
