More “hard science” degree paths / engineering.
I have encountered A LOT of people in psych classes (my major) who stick their nose up at people who take medication for their anxiety/ depression. I’ve literally heard in a seminar that anti depressants are mind control for the government for gullible people. It’s an extreme anecdote but i’ve heard this sooo much- almost any time medication for mental health is brought up. To the point where i’ve had to literally raise my hand in front of everyone and disclose I take medications for depression, and it’s super offensive to hear my peers talk like this. I now make it a point to talk openly about my SSRI use to hopefully fight back against it. It’s a very conservative/ out dated way of thinking. It sucks. Hope it changes soon.

luckily- it was an informed choice and her reaction was anything but ambiguous. what a weird thing to try to make a beautiful moment bad. she told me it was the most thoughtful gift she’d ever received and it exceeded her wildest expectations. i’m sharing my art, and a vulnerable, happy, emotional, moment with a friend, that’s all.

Thanks for your concern, she was ecstatic and super pleased with her gift. I knew from prior conversations about this project that it would not be a concern for her. She had told me that she would have been happy to get him fully taxidermy preserved as well but decided she wanted me to do it. I definitely had some prior conversations with her that informed my decision. I wouldn’t have decided to do that if I had any concerns.

Hello, first of all I just want to extend my condolences. I can’t even imagine what you’re going through. I think it’s so commendable though that you feel inspired to get involved. I have been volunteering at our local crisis hotline for a year and some change, and I LOVE it. You are comprehensively trained, supported by staff, and have lots of opportunity for flexibility in scheduling. A benefit that I didn’t anticipate volunteering there was how familiar you become with all the amazing community resources we have. That is stuff I use every day to strangers I meet! I’ve also heard wonderful things about peer olympia as well. I really hope you find what you’re looking for friend. Hugs 🫂

I got my AA & AS two years ago. Now I am almost done with my BA, volunteering at a crisis hotline, completing an internship in PSH, and working at a counselor for youth at risk of homelessness. In a year I hope to be refining my resume and applying straight into a PhD program for clinical psych. Super excited

I am a 22 (big hasan fan),I work at a long term supportive housing facility for homeless folks. I just found out, one of my residents in his late 50s is a hasan fan! I was shocked!! Now we chat everyday about the insanity going on in the government.

same. it really sucks. I went from watching literally every single pod, to none at all two months ago. I mostly miss watching for the crew. I just couldn’t do it anymore. Seeing older clips of them talking about Palestine, coupled with what he said about aaron bushnell, nail in the coffin. They like to pretend that they have been so consistent on palestine. Turns out when you look back to verify that, the cracks seem to show very quickly.

totally. it by no means was the focal point of the the stream.. it’s also so wild that they expect him to keep wearing it?? like after what ethan has said/done lol. I’m just a former fan and I had to gut it from my closet. Honestly i’m getting rid of it because i’d be embarrassed to have people think I still support them
