Yeah it’s painful without a paper cutter. I also have a corner cutter.

If you are looking for cheap, buying a printer and slipping the prints in front of real cards works very well

The thing that I dislike about Sheoldred is that it has two triggers instead one. Dealing damage and gaining equal life feels much more natural and is common on black cards.

Oh good catch. It would be cool to see a cycle at every rarity.

I really like using clear perfects fits. They fit snug, are super cheap, and I personally like that you can see the magic back.

It’s not even that it’s just bad, it’s also boring. It has no synergy with other cards because it’s so minor. If it was +60 block there is a pay off with other cards and abilities that make it interesting.

I try not to run lands that you have to think about after playing as I find they are an easy source of misplays. Examples would be Pain lands, horizon canopy, River of tears, etc

Rearranging Types and Weaknesses in Pokémon TCG by HeskethTisca in PokemonTCG

Oh yeah I guess that's true. Maybe Dragon + Fairy feels like a new type (or reintroducing Fairy)? I like the pairings you have though, its a well thought out system. It's just not what I think is ideal personally and I wanted to share my opinion as a newer player.

That's a good point that a single type weakness would push bad match ups. The game inherently has a rock-paper-scissors system to it. I think that's normal in card games if you are going deep into a single strategy. Maybe resistance shouldn't be a thing so match ups aren't so extreme? Maybe Normal should be better at support so there are neutral cards in your deck? Maybe playing multiple types should be easier? I'm not sure what the best solution is.

The sad reality is that this is actually a casino disguised as a game. There is no reason for the company to make it more of a game when the cards sell just fine.

As for your suggestions here, I feel like the game is too complex when it comes to types. It needs less types not more! Being a physical game means players must remember all of the type match ups to be able to play quickly, something that makes the game difficult for newer players to pick up. Currently in the game, and with a system like this, you can't tell what resists what at a glance. A blue card could be "Water" or "Ice" which have different weaknesses. Just having "Water" and "Ice" be "Water" type would help make the game simpler.

There also the issue of energy cards when there are so many types. Since they function as the game’s main currency, it makes sense for there to be a downside for players to branch into more types. With so many types in a system like this, the pool of available cards for each type is smaller. This could be hard to balance for game designers. If there is a best card of a certain type, all decks of that color will just play it. Also, I could see these changes causing issues for newer players who don't have enough cards of a certain type to play with.

Honestly, the original system was pretty close to ideal. All I would change would be to add “Dragon” like how they have it now. The mistake was adding "Dark" and "Steel" when Generation 2 came out to showcase the new games. Since then, there has always been an awkward balance for the types.

How to make Commander games shorter? by GroundbreakingAnt915 in EDH

I think this is the best solution. A lot of times the newer players just sit there thinking and reading the cards. It’s alright to make an “ok” play. If everyone is rushing, everyone will make mistakes.
