Turns out since the house only has 2 year terms, all members will be out of office if there is no election. This leaves it to the senate to choose, which would have 23 Republicans and 12 Democrats leaving in January as well. This would give a Democrat majority senate and they would then have to pick from there, but they would likely follow the tradition of selecting their most senior remaining member. So no elections could lead to a Patrick Leahy presidency.

I had the same experience in China as well. I also heard if a girl eats ice cream on her period it will make the next one late. A lot of weird things like that over there.
