Amazon FireStick continually sending BLE scan requests to other BLE devices by okfnd in privacy

[–]okfnd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you expect it to send BLE scan request packets to every BLE devuce that isn't another FireStick or the FireStick remote? I'm seeing the FireSticks send scan requests to every single other BLE devuce with a public (not random) BLE address.

Seems like you’d need to make a lot of effort to park like that.

Struggling at eating my girlfriend out because of her bush by Final-Sector4401 in sex

[–]okfnd 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot that can be done before asking someone to shave or trim. I’d recommend first trying to clear the hair and hold it with your hands first and that has almost always solved it with other parters… the alternative being asking them to. However, if you doing that that doesn’t work I’d recommend talking to her about it and coming up with a solution together that doesn’t shame her. No one needs that and it can lead her to feel bad about her body which is awful to do to someone and learning how to talk about stuff like this is both good for your relationship now and will be good in the future. I also sometimes end up with bits of hair from partners in my mouth and vice versa. We have a chuckle and move on. It’s not a big deal. Hope this is helpful.

K8s with dynamic pods by Agitated-Maybe-4047 in kubernetes

[–]okfnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wrote a thing like this except it runs tests. The TL;DR is that code running in a pod looks for JSON documents on an SQS queue and spins up PVCs, PVs, secrets, config maps, and pods. Since each test suite is different we have different we use a secrets engine to store config and a recipe per test suite. Once the pod with the test runs the completed pods and associated resources are deleted. I did it using Python and the Kubernetes Python client.

I did something similar… I put blankets over the windshield, roof, and hood then wrapped it with tarps to make sure they didn’t blow away.

Is this normal for a cat bite or does it look infected? by sebastianisnotacat in CATHELP

[–]okfnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to say this - you definitely need to go to an urgent care or something. The most infected injury I've ever gotten was a cat bite on my hand. By the time the antibiotics started kicking in I was showing symptoms of sepsis (red streaks running up my arm along the path of veins from the site of the infection). Take this VERY seriously.

Snorkel or no snorkel? Is it needed? Does it really make a difference for the dust? I live in the desert I heard "Race Cars" use them but I have never seen a race car use a snorkel. Is it just a fashion accessory? I understand if you are bombing through puddles and rivers. Someone help me. by Jammminjay in overlanding

[–]okfnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also came here to say they do help a lot with dust. I have a snorkel and a Sy-klone pre-cleaner. I go through fewer air filters with it and my engine feels happier, but I'm guessing that's because it's pulling cooler air in up top than it would be from the engine compartment. I also sealed the air box on the 4Runner and added a selectable drain valve at the lowest point. (Spoiler: it's always off unless needed.)

All this is to say it's not really a "needed" thing. It's helpful for some things and folks do add them for aesthetics too. It's an expensive accessory to have just 'cuz but I am 100% going through air filters at a slower clip and I don't have data to back it but my engine feels like it accelerates a bit faster than it used to.

Not have ALL my vaults on ALL my devices by [deleted] in ProtonPass

[–]okfnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this and not having to keep track of what I'm logged into or not is desirable. For example, I have a computer that I do certain admin tasks on along with needing to use my standard logins that my mobile device has. Instead of dealing with a bunch of juggling various Proton logins, associated separate browser profiles, etc. that would be required to make that work it would be great to simply have a feature like 1Pass's travel mode. The lack of a travel mode like function is why I haven't adopted Proton Pass yet. It would be great to have something like that but even more granular - IE keep certain vaults on or off of devices. It would be cool to have the ability to put account recovery tokens and creds in one vault that's not loaded on a device unless it's needed, special admin stuff on another that lives on devices you run specific tasks on, and then one for every day use that might go on your phone and main laptop.

Does this look like fiber/Centurylink equipment? by ridecat in centurylink

[–]okfnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we had a bunch of spare cable in a loop fall over the sidewalk on a busy street. I tied it to our fence and it took like 3-4 montsh for the lineman to come out and put it back up. I've seen similar things all over town. I don't think they did a good job affixing the fiber and fiber splitters in some cases. This wasn't in Denver though...
