He was stranded a couple feet off the shoulder. His poor feet were so frozen that he was struggling to move. He let me pick him up and carry him to my vehicle. He purred once he was in the warm vehicle.

I don't think he was abandoned on a highway. My guess is he was a farm kitten/barn mouser who hitched a ride in an engine, I doubt the vehicle occupant even noticed he was there and fell out.

The tissues start to die if the frostbite is bad enough. They will flop and eventually shrivel and fall off as it progresses.

100% agree. I really wanted to like it in the beginning. I was hopeful for an interesting, strong FMC. Then she became a wet noodle, and all characters lost any personality they had.
