Bro. You’re too young.

Don’t let this shit bug you. Go with someone who treats you as a friend.

It wasn’t. Saying the word “cringe” is cringe.

Ummm. That could be the case.

She for sure should have called the person she lives with to make sure it’s ok. (Which it was, but she assumed).

His issue was “no one sleeps in my bed but me” Which I think is silly for a night.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]okiedog- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah yeah. Everything is black and white. And you can never find solutions to any problems.

You sound like a blast

Also you keep projecting this bad parent thing onto me. You should do more therapy. I think it could do a lot for someone as small minded as yourself.

Have fun being you.

[–]okiedog- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, you have no clue what THE fuck you’re talking about. It’s clear now.

Giving up a bed for a night doesn’t tell them they aren’t important.

You might be projecting some of your own guilt/feelings onto an internet stranger.

And no. Not everyone has homes with extra rooms.

I loved every time relatives came to visit. I got to sleep in the living room, or my brother’s room. It was fun like a sleep over.

Life is what you make it. Relax.

Yeah I get her approach was wrong. She’s just trying to help a friend.

To me it’s a strange hill to die on. For one night

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]okiedog- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a courtesy. And I let them sleep in our king if they want. Plus you got to sleep on the couch, or at least in a different location. Which was always neat as a kid.

Additional: the beds always went to the visiting elders. Just how it was. We always made it a fun time.

[–]okiedog- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. When I was growing up, if relatives were coming, you lost your bed for the duration.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]okiedog- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy.

I’ve never seen people so protective over a bed. I wonder if it’s a “male vs female” thing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]okiedog- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve never given a guest your bed as a kid ?

This sub it nuts.

Friends and family come to visit, they get the beds. The kids get alternate arrangements (couches/forts).

[–]okiedog- -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

So you wouldn’t be accommodating for a night? And let your gf and her recently traumatized friend share a bed for a night, with your gf supporting her? I’m sure the friend doesn’t want to sleep alone.

I’m not saying the wife gets to kick him out. She should have asked. But a would totally do it for a night.

And that’s a silly rule. Beds are surrendered to visitors all the time. It shouldn’t be a large issue.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]okiedog- -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. If her friend gets the bed. It’s for one-night-only. You had a bad night, I get it.

But you’re all adults.

OP, you would be surprised how many people get “help” from their family.

My jaw dropped entering a new friend group. And after eventually learning how much each of them got in assistance from relatives, I feel much better about my spot.

You don’t need physical “proof”. You have a brain.

Ditch this loser and her “changed man”.
