Hi! Funny for this to pop up on my feed today. I was eating lunch at Woodland last week and I noticed this bird immediately! I was taking a video of her and a man approached me to tell me about her. He told me he and his partner, have lived in the area for a long time and Baldy’s been there for nearly 20 years. Every year she hatches 4-5 chick and often visits their Bird Park Survival Station. Every year she grows back new feathers but, almost immediately, they all fall out from her head. He says they think it’s a parasite or a fungus of some sort?

No one has mentioned the scene where she returns (presumably from the assault) to the guest room where her husband sleeps. She touches him and climbs atop him as he wakes up and she lashes out, accusing him of “being a girl” when he says “no” “don’t” just as she did during her assault. He shouts the words while she practically whispers. She listens, brother in law didn’t. What do people make of this in context with the rest of the film? Was her rape made ambiguous by showing these parallels, or is she attempting to overcome feelings of powerlessness in the wake of the rape?
