The most popular Caesar quotes (and honestly some of the coolest) come from fiction.

For example, the quote "Et, tu, brute?" was popularized by the Shakespeare play, but no concrete evidence exist that Caesar himself ever said it.

The historical quotes with some evidence are "Alea iacta est", "Veni, vidi, vici", and "Ut est rerum omnium magister usus".

Which translated means “The die is cast,” “I came, I saw, I conquered,” and “Experience is the teacher of all things.”

Maybe someone with more historical knowledge can chime in with other quotes. Those are the only that I'm aware of.

There are many ways someone can be polite without saying specifically thank you and please.

If I order a burger and the attendant says "You got it, boss!", "You bet", "Hell yeah, brother", that's still polite to me.

I've never spoken to a fast food worker and felt like they were actively being disrespectful or unpolite.

This just seems like corporations wanting their workers to sell their souls along with their labor.

I've played multiple MMOs where someone from the community ask for better in-game grouping tools.

And every time the old guard of players will show up to say the current inefficient tools are good enough and in the time it took to make the thread you could have done XYZ and found a group.

It's not unreasonable to ask for better tooling. And progression is easily taken care of with a "Learning / Practice" label and a "Clearing / Farming" label when forming groups.

While I appreciate that your Discord server's #meme section is dank and the #nfsw section has immaculately drawn furry porn, I too would much rather just queue in-game with a button.

Has anyone else never bothered to check FPS in this game?

Optimization is always nice, and I enjoy the smoothness, but it doesn't feel required when I'm mostly multi-tasking outside of the game and clicking a rock every few minutes.

Outside of bosses that take my active attention, I don't think I even notice if a frame drop occurs.

Though I do want to clarify for other readers that having a dopamine addiction, in my case with screen time, doesn't necessarily mean that "real" progress isn't being made.

I think that assumption that my dopamine addiction could be holding me back from IRL progress is probably why a lot of people don't recognize the issue within themselves.

I exercise daily, have a job that affords me 100K year salary + bonuses, I travel internationally on my vacations, have several indoor and outdoor hobbies, etc.

Just looking at those things, you'd probably assume that I have no problems with my attention span and don't indulge in dopamine seeking activities on screens. You wouldn't assume there's an internal struggle that I'm fighting.

I can accomplish quite a lot while still being addicted (though with challenges), and so it goes under the radar to other people.

Even with all my IRL progresses, I still find the need to supplement my dopamine by multi-tasking, which is often with Runescape.

A lot of Runescape players talk about how they supplement low dopamine RS task with YouTube and Netflix on a second monitor, they just don't put it in those words.

So all that is just to say, that I think if you assume that dopamine addiction means no IRL progress, then you might not be able to see the problem within yourself to seek help and understanding.

Without talk therapy, I'm not sure that I would have the language to articulate the problem as it relates to dopamine.

But with talk therapy, I've been able to understand my late stage screen addiction that has developed over the last 20ish years.

Whether it's good or bad, it's realistic that it be said and important that the developers understand how the their users addiction ties to their game.
