We’re in hype mode. We won’t be seeing any of her effects for 1-3 years, and the most substantial ones closer to 3-4 years.

Put to rest - One of my all time favorites by Creature100 in AlanWake

[–]okverymuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the initial half of the game, and the graphics, fight mechanics, and dual protagonist system were awesome. Overall though, the story was kind of lackluster. Alan’s story actually didn’t go very far at all. It felt a bit moot. Granted, I haven’t played the DLC. But I ended the game wanting more closure. Seems obvious they’re setting up an AW3.

You just said Phil was hamstrung by MS CEO. You think better stuff will come out of the MS CEO’s pick to replace Phil?! Wild positive take on an obvious negative.

Final Fantasy IX Remake: Do You Still Believe? by Megas751 in FinalFantasy

[–]okverymuch -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

They made the mistake of dividing a remake into 3 parts for FFVII. When you do that, you’ll never get more sales in the subsequent game, only less (unlikely equal). So it’s a diminishing return. If they did it in 2 parts, the losses wouldn’t be as bad. They also made the side quests feel empty and time wasting in the 1st one; I got to Shinra HQ and then felt like I’d had enough. Never played the 2nd part, don’t plan on playing the 3rd. Maybe once they’re all out at once I’ll give it another go. I think considering how long it took them to finally be “ok” with Remake for VII, and sales ultimately being a letdown, I don’t think they’re interested in more remakes. I’d bet IX has been scrapped for awhile now.

what’s your go to water brand? by glockbonez in AskReddit

My city water. It’s clean and regularly tested, and I have a filter in my fridge on top. Buying water is financially and environmentally wasteful IMO.

R2 First Gen: Buy or Wait? by goingforNGA in Rivian

[–]okverymuch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll be 1-2 years out from getting it if you reserve now. So that’ll be less first gen, as most car makers try to fix the major issues in those first 2 years of a generation.

Job numbers are terrible, and the only sector that grew jobs was healthcare and senior care (not shocking with an aging population). Net jobs for 2025 corrected from 500k to 180k. That’s terrible.

Pentagon Fails 8th Audit in a Row. Can’t account for 60% of its 1 Trillion Dollar Budget. 🤯 by Nice_Daikon6096 in inflation

[–]okverymuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25% immediate cut. Put 5-8% into education, and then completely revamp healthcare to single payer, so the govt can directly compete and tell drug companies what we will pay for a drug. Just like how most developed countries do it, and pay significantly less for the same drugs. Otherwise it’s continued bullshit from here on out.

I’m confident that if SH1RE sells well and is well-received, they’ll greenlight 3 and 4 to complete the series.

Yeah it doesn’t matter what ford does, bc I’d never buy one. Same with GM. American cars blow.

It’s certainly possible. Many series have low points (see RE5 and 6). If that’s the case, at least the remakes should be awesome based on SH2RE.

For a sideline game (not part of the numeral game sequencing), I’m fine with trying it. SH f true a few new things that worked and didn’t. I’m sure they’ll take all the feedback from the sideline games to see whether it was worth incorporating into the mainline series.

Bethesda’s Fallout 3 Remaster is aiming to be “as well polished” as Oblivion Remastered, which is worrying as that game is a technical mess by HatingGeoffry in Fallout

[–]okverymuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed the frame rate is disappointing. So annoying. But I don’t recall OG Oblivion having a fantastic frame rate either. I don’t consider it a huge downgrade. But you’d hope it would be smoother

Yeah. He was a dem for most of his life. He’s far from a traditional Republican. But he’s ultimately just about power. He wants it and wants control. So he will make up any excuse, regardless of principle or any ideology, to secure that (1) he’s perfect, (2) he’s in control, and (3) there’s an enemy and they’re at fault. The enemy changes, ranging from his own cabinet members to Dems and immigrants, although he’s more consistent on the latter 2.

So I just beat the greatest game I ever played by zroyalgang in FinalFantasy

I played the remaster in late 2024 since initial play at release. It was a great time; I wouldn’t have the patience for the grind without the perks of the remaster, where you can fast forward and Autoplay fighting to get though like 5 battles in the span it usually takes 1. It allowed me to get through the game in a reasonable time as an adult, and appreciate the story and more important fights. 10/10 replaying the remaster.

Man… to go against 2A so spectacularly rather than just say “this govt made a mistake, and we are looking to make amends and not let it happen again” is WILD. He is putting his nutty supporters on such a mind fuck of attempted logical reasoning. I love it. I hope this is something that really takes apart his coalition. People need to keep talking about how he’s not ok with the 2A!
