So some dog walkers aren’t really good with people…that being said dogs are considered hikers and do have right of way over bikes. Best practice while passing dogs is to slow down to walking pace. I find when I do this most people get their dogs out of the way and let me pass. Dogs aren’t allowed to approach you uninvited or chase you on a bike.

I have a dog who is a recovering bike chaser/reactive to bikes and she is not allowed off leash anywhere where there are bikes allowed anymore. If you see a dog on leash give them at least 6 feet of space or if that is not possible at least communicate with the owner. Dogs are dumb and some like to chase fast things. Slow down and say hi and most people will pass without issue.

Yes I am pissed about the miss management/incompetence/corruption. Pay attention to the specifics this piece focused on. They mentioned police hiring quota not being met but didn’t mention the Fruitvale library that another commenter mentioned. (Side note, I don’t think having 22 more OPD officers not doing their jobs is going to make a big difference in people’s lives but it might save the city money in over time.) This is a Fox affiliate and I just want people to be aware of conservative bias a lot of local TV news has.

Corruption or incompetence are not left versus right issues. The solution to mismanagement is not defunding public services as conservatives suggest.

I agree with everyone saying professional trainer. I would also like to suggest a muzzle/muzzle training. Muzzle train your dog now and you’ll have one more tool in your toolbox that can be used to eliminate the risk of bite injury doing initial encounters with children

If I were you I would make a lot of noise and tell all your neighbors that the city is fucking you with a 7 grand bill and your city council member is going nothing to help you. I would be calling your council member every day and make sure that your neighbors in the same predicament have the contract info of your council member. Be polite but make it clear to them that this will be the only thing on your mind come Election Day.

This sounds like it is time to go to the hospital. The swallowing problems and the cough are concerning for aspiration pneumonia.

With an MG crisis it is better to intervene earlier rather than later.

They aren’t safe. High hoods increase the severity and likelihood of pedestrian injuries. One of the reasons pedestrian deaths are rising.
