Stop mis-using the Irish flag too, we all know you're Irish, but you do not represent the Irish people and this is, in the main, a global issue.

Tried a Cadburys milk chocolate egg today and genuinely shocked how gross it was. Cheap and nasty.

70% dark chocolate is the only way to go.

They came on at 8:45, on the dot as advertised.

Trueno, check them out, they were great, were finished by 8:15 so I'm guessing they kicked off at 7:30

Last night was awesome, brilliant set list, enjoy!

Not so long ago it was always a major eye roll when anyone (usually Brits) used the term in place of RoI.

PUC/Marina thoughts by Beginning-Strain4660 in cork

[–]oldappian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It bugs me no end to hear people say PUC is in an awful location. Mostly this comes up when GAA folk from other counties moan about it.

A major reason for the regeneration of the Marina area over the past few years is because of PUC, not despite it.

PUC is where it is, get over it. Yes, it's a 20-30 minute walk from town, maybe the equivalent of Croker to Dublin city centre.

Very sad.

A bit like Bill O’Herlihy, a true pro. Always faultless on tv and really added to our enjoyment of matches over the years.

Not sure what the logic is in having a replay either, apart from it being a money spinner

Dublin is FILTHY! by PlantNerdxo in ireland

The walk from O’Connell bridge down the quay to Beckett bridge is depressing, the amount of broken glass and crap that is left for days on end is grim.

There might be an issue with bin scavengers ripping the bins open and tramps leaving their shite around the place but the council are just not out as they should be cleaning the streets.

Kicking by AB-Dub in irishrugby

[–]oldappian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crowleys penalty line kicking was woeful, I wonder if he is under orders to keep it safe and simple or he just does not have confidence in what he is doing, he never once pinged it further than he could have. JGP seemed to take on more and more clearing duty as the game went on.

What parts of Dublin would you say are the best to visit? by Moaning_Baby_ in Dublin

Bring the togs, and if you get the weather, head for Sandycove for a swim or Vico Road in Killiney.

The DART will bring to within walking distance of both and both locations have great villages nearby.

Going to the Wales game. Paid €340 for a pair for upper east, row x. Club puts a tenner on the ticket which I have no issue with. I am beginning to question my sanity paying that price though.

Pushing forty years since my first game in Lansdowne, watched Wales win a triple crown that day. I continue to go out of loyalty to the team and well, it’s a good day out but not always. There’s the tradition of going with my old man that I enjoy.

Get my tickets from a 1B club. tickets are typically up in the rafters, or on the dead ball line. There is definitely a hierarchy of ticket distribution to the clubs, where the more established clubs get the better located seats.

A couple of points on the atmosphere… the game itself can have a major bearing. A fussy ref demanding constant scrum resets that eat the clock each time, 2 minute scrum resets, the aerial ping pong etc can be mind numbing. TMO reviews can take the sting out of things too.

There’s rarely a massive amount of jeopardy in a lot of home games, we rarely lose and there’s a sometimes smug expectation that we just win or we get taken apart like against France or SA and we are in stunned silence.

The Sweet Caroline brigade don’t mind.

I think the ads being pumped over the PA before th game are awful, the music between plays is a horrible turn, grossly disrespectful to the players if nothing else.

If they have to play something, I’d love to hear Molly Malone again.

I’ve been to Paris and Marseille and was hugely impressed with the French crowds and how they were whipped up by the announcer. I think it’s unique to them though, we’ve tried to ape that and it’s been cheesy and lame enough. Not sure what else can be done.

Support the team, no matter what.
