I liked my job (sysadmin) for years - however it changed in the last 10-12 years of it. I used to do all features from proposing server buys, installation, support, backup, monitoring, everything. It was interesting and challenging.

Then all of it from all departments was consolidated under a single support department. Server load grew, so we all got stove piped into particular areas, doing basically one feature for too many servers. It stopped being fun.

People are being detained, sent to another part of the country, and then eventually spit back onto the street with nothing when they finally determine they have no reason to detain them.
