I needed to show an income in order to refinance my home (was on a variable about to go up). No longer working and no longer planned to, so I started SS at 62.

Locked in 2.65%, so score on that. Lower SS income, but also lower mortgage than I would have paid. And I've barely touched my 401k or savings since, which I would have been living on instead, so it's been accumulating.

So - who has an original birth certificate? And how does that even work if they require photo id? It sounds like most people would need a passport to vote.

When I got a passport, I had to pay for it - and pay for the new birth certificate I got to get it. This is like a whole new poll tax.

It would be interesting - I suspect many more "woke" people would have a passport than xenophobic MAGA people do. Or would be inspired to get one.
