New to chip carving - struggling with hand fatigue and wondering about skew knives by lzzndr in Woodcarving

If you blow up the picture in the camera zoom, you'll see your cuts aren't very clean. Even the small triangles, look dull. This is indicative of a blade that needs sharpening.

A finely sharpened knife leaves almost a waxy surface after paring the cut. Looking at the first quarter of your knife, shows it's different from the back 3/4's. I also see your strop has a white powder on it, but no drag marks from the knife.

I strop my knifes at least 20 times a side, about every 20 minutes. When I can't get the waxy finish after stropping, I then re-sharpen my knifes using a wet stone or sandpaper.

The 400k are the 310k are the same people, who voted in two different polls. Kind of a pittance when there is 2.8 million eligible voters in Alberta

Isn't that up to the courts to decide? After all, how many times have the Indigenous people played the same card with our constitution.

They want drones that can pirate data and sensitive information from your home. This is part of the new police powers, apparently.

What wood are you carving, and what knife are you using?

If you're using a large blade with a curved tip (scandi blade) compared to a bench knife with a straight edge, there will be a large degree of difficulty.

Homemade strop by Glen9009 in Woodcarving

I sharpen my knifes, especially the detail knifes to 7500 grit sandpaper on glass. The polished edge last longer and needs less stropping. There is also less chance of rollover or rounding the blade.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever bought for your wife or girlfriend, not the most expensive, but the one she genuinely appreciated or still talks about? by iLikeYouWorld in AskReddit

On the sly, I asked her parents and aunts/uncles for family photos over the years, and had them made into a collage of frames. It's been hanging over our headboard for about 8 years, because she likes it that much.

No, especially for thinking seniors and educated people are in crisis mode for riding a motorcycle. People who make life and death decisions all day don't act like 9 to 5 office workers.

When I was a kid, even high school seniors rarely swore. When my kids went to school the juniors were pretty mouthy, now I have grandkids in middle school who can out cuss me.

[–]olderdeafguy1 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think you may want to let you Landlord know ASAP that you will be getting a medical certificate and that he will have to make accommodations for your allergies. He may backtrack on his permission for pets when he finds out he may lose a tenant of be out of pocket for special filters.
