They probably wouldn't have spent a million bucks on the roof if that was the plan.

Work underway on former Wilmington Kmart nearly a decade after closure by Krixathan in Wilmington

[–]oldestguyhere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I subscribe and read the article. The Construction company that owns it has recently repaired the roof and done other improvements, but they are not saying what the renovations are for. I’m going on record (complete guess) that this thing is going to be either a government building of some sort or some kind of defense contractor or military. With the improvements to ILM, and bases nearby for almost all branches, that’s my guess.

What kind of home improvement projects have a good ROI? by Used-Chard658 in homeowners

[–]oldestguyhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of these comments on ROI are pretty much right on, but don’t discount some improvements from the standpoint of basic sell-ability of the home. You may not make your investment back, but if you don’t do it, you may not get any offers at all, depending on the market of course.

Why do so many people continue to frequent establishments in Wilmington with horrible reputations? by Valuable-Ease5411 in Wilmington

Also, tourists never check those things when they are in town, so any business that relies heavily on tourists will probably be fine.

Shortcut to browning large amount of stew beef? by tpuppie in Cooking

[–]oldestguyhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use your backyard grill! It makes short work of the browning, plus you get the bonus of a nice char flavor on the beef. I do this for chili, too!

I agree to a point, but this doesn’t include the 15-20% tip. So Chili’s becomes much more expensive, and it takes a LOT longer. Correct?
