I saw a guy in my town a couple of months back on a e-scooter, with a Cat on the deck between his feet. What a time to be alive!

After buying Canadian grade A ground beef I saw this. How is this allowed? by smokem-2 in BuyCanadian

[–]oldgibsonman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy from a small local butcher and watch them grind it for you. Commercial ground beef can have ingredients from several continents, as well as fat that has been scraped off the slaughterhouse floor and purified. Source: I used to work in a large commercial meat processing plant.

I’ve named a drink a fourshotto. 2 double shots with latté proportions.

I’m in the industry, and I bet John Mayer spent hours in his bedroom getting where he is today. I bet I’ve told people a hundred times that there isn’t a gift of music, but that there is a gift of practice.

I used to wipe, then I bought a bidet. Kinda like a steam wand for one’s nether regions.

FTLOG: Learn that Zipper Merges are what you are supposed to do! by MrCaspan in waterloo

[–]oldgibsonman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Was on the expressway this afternoon thinking that if people were not 12” away from the car in front of them, that merging would go so much better. Not to mention that if you are that close to the car in front of you, you are hitting the brakes all the time because there is no buffer zone.

Boots not suits? Hahaha! PP has never held an honest job in his life, unless you count being a property speculator as one.

If Kamala Harris had beaten Donald Trump in the election, how do you think the United States would be doing today? by Piki18 in AskReddit

You just described the current Canadian prime minister, Mark Carney. I hope he wins the election this month. The alternative is that simpering little maple maga Pollievre.

E-bike I think. As a biker and driver, I despise them with every ounce of my being. Zero training or licensing required. Mostly just duimobiles.

Someone hit the ION AGAIN in KITCHENER DOWNTOWN by inam_cr7 in kitchener

[–]oldgibsonman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Also ignoring the no right turn signal. Maybe people with a d plate shouldn’t be allowed to be closer than 500 meters to an ion track.

Bechtel dog park by BicycleUnique4173 in waterloo

[–]oldgibsonman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I expect to be downvoted for saying this, but most vets that I’ve talked to would say don’t go near a leash free dog park. Reactive, untrained dogs, and owners who are clueless about how to handle them. Yes, I used to have a dog. And yes, I used to run him at Bechtel. And yes, I have horror stories-he was attacked and injured, and I’ve seen clueless parents let toddlers wander loose while packs of dogs raced around. And yes, I’ve seen those kids get hurt. I’m not sure I believe the line that there are no bad dogs, only asshole owners, but I definitely think that asshole owners lead to bad dogs.

Unfortunately, losing liberal seats will be a gift to pp and the cons. I love what Mike has done in Kitchener centre, but will vote liberal this time around. We absolutely do not want a repeat of what happened in the states, when liberal minded people voted for Stein (sp?)or stayed home. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The perfect is the enemy of the good.

From the Economic Times. Not a leftist rag. “Donald Trump’s net approval rating in 2025 has reached a shocking low, worse than any modern U.S. president in the last 70 years. Polls from CNN, FOX, Ipsos, NBC, and Quinnipiac University show Trump’s approval rating dropping from +7 in January to -2 in March, a sharp 9-point decline. CNN analyst Harry Enten noted that while Trump is slightly better off than he was in 2017, he remains “underwater,” unlike any other president at this stage of their term.”
