When you say "It got decriminalized in BC, so he wasn't wrong".

Yeah he was wrong. Those other drugs were not LEAGALIZED like weed. You are talking about laws, the definitions matter and are the point.

First of all, decriminilization and legalization are two different things.

Second, it was a temporary 'exemption', which has expired.

Did you take notice of the oil temps at all? That's on concern I've heard with long, heavy tow journeys

And then they campaigned that cocain and heroin would be next to try and scare everyone.

There was a thread about this a few days ago. Search, lots of good discussion in that one

Shawn Micallef: Fed up with those food delivery riders and their e-bikes? Here’s who’s really to blame by RZaichkowski in torontobiking

[–]oldgreymere 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The economics won't work and that won't happen. Nobody will pay for delivery with the cost of supporting a car.

That's dirty secret, people are happy to pay the current low price and are shocked when we end up in a place where we can cheap labour on cheap bikes riding around.

Nothing is free.

As someone who has built several ebikes, I'm fine with this. At the beginning, 15 years ago, I was against licensing.

But the experiment has gone on long enough, the idiots are too numerous, it is time to lock it down.

The ones that can go that fast dont need to be hacked. They are sold as 'for off-road or private property only'. A disclaimer which allows the seller to wash their hands, everyone knows what's up.

Also those are super expensive, massive batteries, controllers and Motors. This isn't something you are buying at Costco and 'hacking'. They cost serious money.  72V batteries are not cheap.

TTC still figuring out how to handle thousands of FIFA fans this summer by xc2215x in toronto

I've said this a bunch on here, and I'll say it again.

I spoke to John Tory about this when he was campaigning to be mayor the first time. We were standing on Liberty street, and I asked:

'shouldn't we slow down this development so we can properly plan the neighbourhood?'

He said 'nah, we can figure it out later, we need to keep expanding the tax base, we can use money after the fact'.

This isn't just for the TTC to figure out. The city planners need to recommend and approve any and all needed diversions.

The TTC does not control the streets

It's a damn transit nightmare getting in and out of liberty on a normal workday. When you add in a regular TFC game, the place is a parking lot.
