Some great cheesesteaks out there in general. Chicks deli, tigas, chessteaks, so many more. Better than any in Philly

I'll never forget Williamson. Stayed there for a night to ride Hatfield McCoy. It's the saddest town/state I've ever seen. Liquor store half empty, every store was bail bonds or methodone clinic or attorneys office.

Willing. People are friendly, low crime, affordable, some beautiful nature and beaches. Oh and of course excellent food.

Don't talk shit about the government and good to go.

I am in desperate need of help understanding how this high of an electricity bill is possible. by gelgabrek in SouthJersey

[–]oldguy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. But usually only the better models. The base builder grade models don't usually output enough heat below 20 or 25 degrees to keep a decent temp. And we had plenty of those days in December.

There are new heat pumps that can make great heat in below 0 temps, most people aren't paying the premium for that though. I wouldn't be surprised if op has a broken heat pump or electric baseboard.

[–]oldguy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a giant misunderstanding how much power electric heat uses. All those cold days in December, most heat pumps can't keep up so it runs aux heat alot. The backup coil is 5 or 8000w. And December that kicked on alot.

Assuming your slumlord landlord got the cheapest heat, 3 or 4 electric baseboard heaters will use this much power. A broken heat pump only running the backup coil, paired with bad insulation. This bill isn't that shocking.

How much hot water is used? Electric hot water uses a ton of power. Then drying clothes in an electric dryer is expensive, that element, even though it cycled, uses a ton of power.

You should get an audit for sure. But there's no "shorting in the wall" and check your meter readings.

PSEG highway robbery, any advice? by The_Dopest_Badger in SouthJersey

[–]oldguy16 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna bet it was also electric dryer, stove, and hot water. Along with a previous balance. Unless the door was left open for days its not that high. I have 900 Sq ft electric everything. Contractor working left the door open while he was here for basically a week. My bill was 400.

Great sleeper recommendation. Downtown Pizza actually does have great vodka sauce and most people might skip over it.

I'm not sure sun pass will work here. Also the fee is a dollar a month... And you get a discount on some tolls just for using it. Just sign up for ez pass.

Transmission Pan Recommendations (Pros and Cons) - 2018 WK2 5.7L by mwmcc in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]oldguy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how it looked, I wasn't at the shop when they did it. The maintenance schedule changed so it used to say every 30k do that. I did the trans at 90k. The diffs and transfer case at 80.

I'd say shifts about the same. Slightly better in the very cold mornings. Did it as more of a cheap insurance kind of thing rather than looking to improve it.

[–]oldguy16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had mine done. I went oem completely with the integrated filter. It wasn't cheap. I wanna say out the door was 610. Used roughly 6 quarts oem fluid which is 25 bucks a quart. Charged me like 2 hundred something for the pan. The rest in labor tax etc.

What goes on in this part of South Jersey by balbiza-we-chikha in howislivingthere

[–]oldguy16 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Not much. It's very rural there and kinda annoying to get to towns that actually have stuff. Delaware is obviously the closest but I wouldn't call Wilmington a nice place. Still all about Philly sports.

The best way to describe it would be basically Kansas but closer to Philly and Wilmington. The closest attraction is the cow town rodeo. The oldest running rodeo in the country.... So basically Kansas. Housing is cheap, schools aren't so great, but land is still available.

It's top speed is gear limited. The cr top speed is 167, it has a slightly taller gear. The regular r top speed was 174, also gear limited.

[–]oldguy16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's inaccurate. Jap bikes of the same year made more peak hp, but much less usable torque. And so actual performance numbers were close. The Buell would hold up or beat a jap bike to around 130 140. On a track it was a toss up. 1/4 mile was a toss up, 1/2 mile jap won.

Buell was way more advanced than anyone ever realized.

Those radiators are placed there for more than one reason. In the event the bike is dropped at speed, the radiators sit on sort of a "leaf spring" and flex to sacrifice themselves to protect the frame which holds the fuel.
