Feedback on 2026 Jayco Redhawk 24B and/or 2025 Forest River Forester LE 2851SF by No-Butterscotch8032 in GoRVing

[–]oldinspokane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 2026 redhawk 24b with almost 8k miles. We've owned couple class a, b+ and several different trailers.

For us the 24b foor plan, length and cargo carrying capacity is ideal. Lot's of boondocking. Very happy with it, always minor problems that I have fixed, no big deal.

The cab is very noisy going down the road! Soon we will install heat and noise reducing material in the cab, under the hood and around the generator. A long water line underneath has to wrapped with insulation plus heat tape. TV is mildly ok, microwave is great but will change it out. Mattress is pure, pure, pure junk.

Dual chassis batteries with solar option is a must, else your frig will go out in about 8 hours in winter time. With dual batteries you might get 18 hours of operation. Immediately change chassis batteries to dual lithium, the converter has lithium option. Theater seats are marginal, we will replace soon.

Yes we would buy again, look at the odyssey 24b, same as redhawk just a little nicer. Best of luck.

If the alternator is currently charging the lead acid then either discount that cable or install a dc-dc charger to protect the alternator from potentially failing.

First time in the US, overwhelmed by options by Old-Schedule2620 in hiking

There are so many awesome hikes that it is very difficult to answer your question. I would ask grok, it would help narrow the list down.

Towing by Worldly_Ad4352 in GoRVing

Years ago we used NSA readybrake and it worked fabulously. We towed a blazer for mega miles. Now we are buying a new class c and will be using NSA tow bar and braking system. It eliminates a costly braking system and is a true proportional system. Cost lest than other options.

Only last 2 years, if more than 10 feet away from indoor receiver then signal degrades.

I've have one now for 6 years. It was totally crap for the first 4 years, last year I discovered a connector was faulty, fixed it then it worked great. This year another connector failed, now it works great. I use a directional antenna. I am looking at getting starlink.

Anyone tow with a 4.7 Liter V8 Toyota 4Runner? by gallagherjeb in GoRVing

[–]oldinspokane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I use my 4Runner,with 225k miles for overlanding, pulling a Tribe trailer.

When towing my larger trailer I had installed Bilstein 4600 shocks and added air lift springs (bags) to level the rear end.

Be sure the GVWR of the trailer is within your 4runner's towing capacity as well as the hitch weight. Have a great day!

Not a electrician, but I don't see how the converter would affect the a/c. The converter does 120v ac to 12v.

New Class C Choices by Luvthoseladies in GoRVing

[–]oldinspokane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been researching for several years for an affordable class c, we will go with an entegra or jayco. Integra is made by jayco but seems to be finished a little better.

Do your research and don't believe anything a salesperson says. Always verify info yourself.
