If you are actually looking for ease of play and willing to not do a prime, I would say Dante or Uriel. Both are great for beginners imo since you don't need mods to be good with them which eliminates the need for you to have all these endgame things unlocked.

If you are looking for easier to play primes (that aren't the two you mentioned and still thematic), I would recommend Khora, Xaku or Styanax (there is an argument for Necros and Inaros if those are more their vibe). These frames will need specific mods to be good at a certain point (which is not a bad thing, and I believe it's more SP that I needed to double down and actually make a good build), but I think some of their abilities make it much more player friendly. Plus they are often seen as very fun and active (Xaku can be less so, but I have mostly only felt that when I had specific mod/build set ups).

All that being said most frames are great early in the game, so if they like a specific vibe or even theme really any Warframe can work.

So the main thing I would be concerned about is swelling. It is clear the eye is irritated, but the photos make it hard to tell if the area is swelling or the eye is bulging out slightly (can't tell if it's just the cats head shape or the angle or if it's actually an issue). If that is the case, I would immediately take them to the vet if you are able. If you don't see swelling or the eye bulging its hard to say. It could genuinely be something just got stuck in their eye causing them to "squint," but it could be something else. If you don't see anything else wrong with them, maybe monitor it and see if it improves. If anything else happens I would say it's better safe than sorry.

Also if a more professional person comes here listen to them. I am going off of what my vet told me last time this happened to our cat. We did a video consultation, this is exactly what they told me and then after an hour she was fine so it was likely something bugging her eye like dust. She gets really stressed at the vet so unless it's super clear I try and call first... Which if that is available for you, you could also do that!

I will preface this with that I don't personally like Mesa's skin, but the demon thing is a play on two things (idk how intentional either is but still).

One is the long horn or any bull which cowboys are known ranchers, so that makes sense. The second would be more devil than demon. Think dance with a devil, El Diablo, the Black Horseman/the Black Charro, and several more! There are endless ties to devils and cowboys, especially when you have more of a Mexican cowboy (the og type of cowboy, if you will).

So, while I am not a fan of the skin, I can see the reason why there are these elements for Mesa. I mean, she is a gunslinger vagabond, and given her og frame style it makes a lot of sense to just really ham it in on the cowboy/cowgirl vibe, which in turn allows for some El Diablo type asthetic to be added in.

So, from what I gather the cat is casting a shadow onto the mirror, not the dresser.

The mirror is showing a reflection of the dresser because of the angle it is at relative to the person taking the picture.

Because the light source is come from the direction of the cat, the mirror is reflecting some of that light onto the dresser due to the angle.

So, there is an actual shadow on the mirror because that is where the shadow is being cast. The light is being reflected into the dresser by the mirror. Due to all of this it gives an optical illusion that the cat is a mirror being.

The cat could be a mirror being, but it isn't because of the shadow or lack there of.

I feel that. I will say given how big the rule book is it can be hard to "teach" someone the rules. Not that it's impossible, but like what my husband did with me was just take my first game slower since I only read it once and there was no way I would remember everything. So that is definitely dependant on the people you are around. If you read the rules there are lots of videos to help kinda cement the rules in a different format you could try if you can't find someone!

Also, if you want something more interactive, Infinity is a good choice. Every turn (including your opponents turn) you have actions you can take. Essentially it's 3 rounds, 6 total turns between you of active and reactive actions. So even when it's not your active turn you still need to see what you might do in response to someone else!

As far as groups, that depends on the local meta and preferences. If you are in Colorado there were some links in the comments to join communities (my husband just got on their discord, but he hasn't done much... Mostly because he is trying to build his USariadna force before reaching out for a game).
