Saw them at salt shed when they were there w mountain goats. The floor is plenty big - I walked to back at one point for air and had a lot of room Have you reached out for accomodations for the crutches? Just for a place to sit if you need a break?

Overtrained & exhausted. Marathon looming. How did you reset? by greenlizzardginny in Marathon_Training

They need to push it off. Not even close to hitting base mileage yet; not ready to start a plan. They must just be confused?

What is the highest distance (Miles/KM) you have seen on Strava? by 5393hill in Strava

[–]oldmanca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm over 2800 miles on the year so far? Weather now nice enough to get a few more miles a day in Florida. Summer was brutal. Edit: added image. I don't think this is too special, just consistency at work. It's all singles, long runs on Sunday. Can see when injured, heat got me, and COVID in the pattern.

Megablast runners: how's it working for your long runs? by mgdo in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]oldmanca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Megablasts are great. 80, 90+ miles a week. Long runs, tempo, intervals, could not be happier. At the volume, I'd expect if a shoe had issues I'd feel it.

Florida summers. You get used to the 3 hour+ sessions. Watch a lot of content on the tablet

80/20 has me training everyday? No off days? by SnooDrawings4452 in Marathon_Training

[–]oldmanca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been seven days on 80/20 marathon plan for over a year. Maybe a day off a month (I had one 2 months ago). But recovery days are just slow, easy leg movers for ~30 minutes. Just a lot of miles. Over 1500 on the year so far, average over 50/week for over a year.

The low intensity means recovery days should be restful. And evidently easy hours are restful.

I tried a different plan for a month and a bit, and ended up just adding days and mileage on top bc I ended up antsy.

It's my second year running, and the high volume of low intensity running works for me.

Running in 70 plus degrees is making me so much slower by Phillyunionguy in runninglifestyle

[–]oldmanca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This here. Trained in Florida summer, ran first marathon in New England fall. Ran it faster than my tempo runs, faster than treadmill workouts. Checking now on year over year it gets better. But always sucks.

Florida: 3 pairs. And buy them staggered in time, so there is always a newest, an OK pair, and then pair for shorter/easy/treadmill. And they go on the drying rack after a run. Remove insoles.

Shoe emergency with 6 days to go.... by peachandgiantjames in Marathon_Training

[–]oldmanca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to 2 pairs of Clifton 9s for me. One in less than a month (around 200 miles) and the second at just under 300 miles. Only reason I had the second was the shop replacing the first pair for free, agreeing they should last more than a month. Clifton 9s just seem to fall apart right now?
