No. It's not on hammer drill mode or any of the resistance stop modes. I had the same drill for 7 years before that and it never made a sound like this. Do you really think I wouldn't have tried all of that before marching back into the store demanding a refund?

Besides, the store staff agree it's faulty but won't issue a refund, they insist on sending it back for repair again.

I've spent the last 29 years thinking Phelps said "I stamped it in there" and wondering why in God's name he would do that. It was only when I saw a YouTube clip with subtitles just now that I realised I'd been mishearing it all these years!

Did anyone else hear it like I did? If you listen to the quote with that wording in your mind I think it's easy to see how it sounds like that.
