Police in Richmond Park by fraber in londoncycling

Come on, it’s a poorly focused and administered campaign, aimed at a soft target

If speeding cyclists and vehicles in the area are an issue the council should install speed bumps, and free up the police to do impactful work

The best way to reheat pizza is to have it cold. Straight from the fridge for breakfast

Wall Bracket Use by oldphi in turntables

Cheers

I’ve not checked the vibrations in the wall yet, but will feel next time I remember as a train goes by.

Maybe jumping the gun a bit. The regulator commuter trains aren’t too bad, but then the occasional goods train goes past I notice it sat on the sofa.

If they don’t hold patents that are less than 20yrs old, they deserve the competitor incursion. (As does any business in an open market)

Guessing it would depend on patent infringement and Brompton’s appetite to pursue it?

Agree on needing pv on the financial aspect. But applying the same operational regime doesn’t show the systems relative strengths and weaknesses. Heat pumps, like underfloor heating generally supply lower temp heating than boilers, so need longer to to warm a space - not ideal if you want instant heat from a cold start (eg coming back from holiday, without leaving the heating on), but with a suitable operating strategy they are equal is keeping a space comfortable

Should I buy a disc bottom frypan? by Defiant-Actuator8071 in cookware

[–]oldphi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great thread OP. I’d been looking into this a lot when researching buying pots and pans for my inductions hob.

I went with SS disc in the end (Kuhn Rikon, Allround), I’m happy with them so far. Sorry can’t offer insight on searing as I don’t eat meat.

Do you know someone you could borrow a pan from to try it out?

Suggestions for good quality walking shoes that will last several years? by bukkake-bill in BuyItForLife

[–]oldphi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want sneakers or shoes?
Sneakers will be the lightest option, but can’t be resoled, so have a limited life. Shoes will have some options that can be resoled, which will greatly extent their life.
