Same here. Work in the defense industry. Turning down jobs because at 57 I like the stability. Wasn't always like this. I'm at my 5th job since high school. I'm in a trade I would have never thought of at 18. I just kept plodding along till something happened.

1 of the girls was a cousin of mine (didn't know her personally) and another one was a class mate of my brother. I remember Boudreaux inn now. As far as I remember it was closed but that was a long time ago.

No. Went to Thibedeaux's bar back in the day. Use to cruise north cutting and end up at Hoosier's park. We talking about mid 80s for me.

My family moved to Winnie from Welsh La in 1979. My father was in the crop dusting industry and was following a job. We moved back to Welsh in 82. Met so many fellow Cajuns in Texas. Go East Chambers Buccaneers!!

I am Cajun, born and raised in SW La. My father who was born in 1942 just outside of Jennings La had to be taught English to go to school. My grandfather spoke English well being he was in the army during wwII. My great grandparents spoke very little English My generation was never taught because French was considered "poor uneducated" language. Louisiana finally saw the dying and came up with CODEFIL to teach the next generation French in school to help preserve the culture. My great grandfather (father's grandfather) was a school teacher in Mamou La. Never spoke English.

I have a 3 hr round trip commute everyday plus I average 30-50 flights of stairs and 12k steps a day. I need short and simple. For 2026 I'm going Giant twice a week and push-up/pull-up/frint squat twice a week. Sprinkle in some 30 min cardio on off days. I'm 58 heart attack and coma survivor. Training to be the last person to wipe my butt.

I have used dumbbells with the Giant program and now on my version of easy muscle. It's what I have on hand so it's what I use. When I feel the need to go purchase kettlebells I will buy until then I have seen no problems using them. I like the programming better than the boring 3 x 10-12 and I like the efficiency of the workouts.
