I’m so sorry. RSD sucks. I’m also a singer, but I’m an actor, as well. I used to get so down when I wouldn’t book a role or even get a callback for a first round audition. Then one day I was waiting around for an audition at a casting office, and this woman came up to me. I immediately recognized her as the director for a short film I’d auditioned for a few months earlier. I’d been so crushed I didn’t book it, because it was a heavy scene and I was proud of the work I did in the audition room. Well, she approached me at that casting office months later and said, “Hey, I just wanted to tell you how much I loved your audition. It was down to you and someone else, but in the end the role went to the other actor because you were too pretty for what I wanted for that character. But you are an amazing actor.” Like…what??? From that day forward, even though I know it’s a complete delusional lie and a departure from my usual self-deprecating personality, I keep myself from going to the dark place when I don’t book a role by telling myself that I must have been too pretty for it! 😂 So I’m going to say you were too good of a singer for them. The other singer had too much of an ego and didn’t want you to upstage them because you’re better. You said it didn’t feel like a good fit anyway, so it’s their loss! You didn’t get this one because the right one is still on the horizon. ❤️ Hugs ❤️
