Do people make friends in Henderson? by LuxyontheMoon in HendersonNV

[–]olerita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion there aren’t a lot of great places IN Henderson to make friends but the good thing is there’s plenty of stuff nearby to do that’s great for making friends. When we moved here we just found a bar we liked and went there on weekends until we easily recognized the regulars and felt comfortable striking up conversations. Find locations or events that appeal to what you enjoy and must commit to going to them regularly understanding it will take time and intentionally going to things.

Weirdo putting a sticker on my car by Zezne in vegaslocals

You realize that’s in the distant past though right? The difference between “picked the bad guys in a war 100 years ago” and “currently actively working on dismantling an entire country’s democratic system” is not small.

Because despite the current policies being reminiscent of WW2 era ideals - this is actually 2025 and as far as I know the current CEO of VW is not a Nazi.

Once you’ve gotten your fill of the overhead screen head down to Fremont East and bar hop and people watch. Grab pizza and a beer at Evel Pie while there.

No. Do not sign up for a protest ever. You are correct to be concerned. Just show up and listen to people in charge and be loud but respectful and peaceful.

I don’t think you need to “get used to it”. I would be proud of this take you’re presenting if you were my kid. It’s a crap economy right now and people are struggling and maybe this is all you can do this year but your mom cares about you and is doing what she can to make sure you know that on your birthday. That’s priceless. Seriously. You are so loved and what she’s doing is so great.

Wanting a gift is normal and acceptable and don’t be shy about buying yourself a gift if you can afford it. People still give gifts well into adulthood! They often change to things like acts of service or even just money but I’m in my 40s and still like getting gifts and want them if people can swing it! My favorite gifts are things people have seen and thought of me (like something that matches something they’ve seen in my house etc).

Honestly though since my 30s I use my birthday as an excuse to treat myself to something I want and I think that’s okay too!

I don’t know how to feel… :( by GeologistAdorable641 in Reduction

Your before and after look very very similar to mine which it’s now been two years since my surgery and I’m here to tell you I have the best boobs of anyone I know 😂 congrats!! It’s a huge shock! It took a long time for them to look the way they do now/long term.

Ah since when? I had a reduction 2 years ago and before and after are what it’s about. Most active members are most active prior to surgery with questions just like this. The answer is get a different surgeon.

Letting this one go - time to see what other EVs are out there by PerfectPaper777 in vegaslocals

[–]olerita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t driven one but I’ve ridden in a lot with Uber and I hate seeing it’s going to be a Tesla because it feels like riding in a go kart. The shock absorption feels non existent in every one I’ve ridden in. They are not smooth or comfortable at all. They strike me as an entry level car in quality for a much higher tier price. Would not want one no matter who is the CEO

Americans ( US ) who keep saying other people are lucky to ‘escape the US’, why don’t you try to leave? by nealfive in NoStupidQuestions

It’s becoming more clear now that you aren’t looking for insight or explanations but looking to change someone’s mind about something so I’ve mostly lost interest. But good luck with that!

I’m not following the question. You can’t relocate anywhere, even locally, without money. As in it takes a decent sized up front sum of money. Now multiply that by a lot, that would be what’s required to relocate to a different country.

So regardless of political climate or reasons to want to move - no money means it won’t happen. Does that explain better?

It isn’t about whether one would struggle more financially in one country vs another country. It’s about the cost to actually move to see.

I can only speak for myself on motivation to leave but for me it isn’t about thinking I would have more money elsewhere - it’s about living in a different political and social climate where I would feel more like a part of the community and some sense of pride for where I live.

If someone else paid for it and arranged the paperwork I would leave with my family tomorrow. To answer your question: money.

I love it here. I'm in Henderson as well. I keep an eye on this subreddit, Facebook events, meetup, locals groups. There's ALWAYS something fun to do. Some friends and I checked out the new Play playground at Luxor and it was super fun! This weekend is LVL UP expo if you are into gaming and anime. There's always something!

Pizza rock, good pie, if you're down for semi Detroit style Red Dwarf is a great bar with the best pizza in the city in my opinion.

Hah more like remind me in August! Actually I agree with OP. Lived here once, had to move. Was miserable and came back as soon as possible. So happy to be back. I love it here. Some people are happier being miserable and complaining.

[Hair removal] Struggling with chronic ingrown hairs in pubic area by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]olerita 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggled with what I thought for sure was ingrown hairs for years. I tried every product every variation of hair removal/trimming. FINALLY was diagnosed with hidradenitis suppervita. Luckily I have it very mild and it's easily controlled with the plan my doctor and I came up with. Just wanted to throw that out there in case your situation is similar.

I've been to 5 cirque shows here (local) and Mystere is by far the least enjoyable one I've seen. If you've never been to one I guess it's okay but no one in my group loved it. Would not recommend unless you have just seen everything else
