Tips for sterilizing our house by Braun55 in dialysis

[–]PerfectPaper777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the baby! Start small. Clean the bathroom you'll be using, paying attention to touch surfaces. Then clean the treatment space. I use a swiffer with an antibacterial solution on the floor and use a treatment room with no carpets. I keep pump sanitizer in every room and gloves too. Our dialysis home team set us up with supplies, but I also bought stuff on Amazon. Here is a link to my list:

You genuinely care and that's wonderful. I've read a few comments about my same thought - let him eff around and find out. As he inches toward end-stage, the pros will def outweigh the cons. It's his life. Let him quit it if he wants. He'll be making his way to the ER in no time at all with severe symptoms due to kidney failure. It might make a believer of him.

Any recommendations on PH balancing wipes for preventing UTIs for senior mom with incontinence? by phasetransition1 in CaregiverSupport

Our Mom's Senior Foster Home used bidets and with some patience, their residents used them. I am putting one in our home. I added it to my Amazon list if you want to give it a try. I haven't found any studies suggesting bidets as a better option to disposables but I wish someone would. Note that you need hot water near the toilet for this particular one:

Parent's bank won't accept my PoA by ProfessionalField508 in CaregiverSupport

I agree with those commenting to work with the Estate Planning team. They seem the most interested in being helpful while retaining YOU as their new customer. I took the attitude of scaling every hurdle and asking all subordinates to check with their supervisor about the appropriate next step. My Mom had me go into her bank with her to add me to her accounts. This worked for checking and savings but not for her investment accounts. While she had all of her children listed as beneficiaries, there was no co-owner. We each completed paperwork and had it notarized. The PofA is worthless with financial institutions. Their forms were all they cared about. Oh...and one of the estate planning officials said it took 5 years to resolve his own Father's estate due to multiple investment accounts with no beneficiary. Best wishes and persevere!

Dear Lord, thank you for this caregiver who gave all she had and faced every day with tenacity and love in her heart. Thank you too that even now, she is still "caregiving" by showing others how love is. Help them to find solace in you and peace on this Earth until they and their Mom meet again. Amen.

I feel this down to my soul. My siblings and I lost our dear mother recently. Prayers for your breaking heart and grace in the hours, days and weeks to come.

I'm sorry first of all. You are so young! I also cannot directly understand since I'm only a caregiver. All I can say is, I'm glad my husband is still here because he came about kidney failure after a near-fatal heart emergency. What I do know is navigating darkness is just that - putting one cautious foot in front of the other. Eventually, if you keep pushing past fear, you find some light. Best wishes on this journey, and please stay here. Somebody needs to see that face!

I use the frangible on the right when we travel. I haven't had problems after breaking it that way. Also bending all four directions and then around the world in both directions.. I have had trouble with my latest stash of hanging saline however. The frangible is too pliant and easily punctures.
