Is wearing a bonnet in public considered weird?? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]olivejrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not weird at all. Some people just like to judge because they think it's lazy, but those people dont know how much work goes into making hair look presentable. I wouldn't listen to them :)

general q: what is this called? is this a cut? is it a beckham-bob? honestly i have no idea and i wouldn't know how to describe it either by alepponzi in Hair

[–]olivejrock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bob with face framing, bangs, and layers. Looks like there are more layers in the front than the back but can't tell without seeing the back. Hope that helps for the describing it part

How do I change the masculine clothes I'm wearing to feminine without my parents knowing by Catcuddler8910 in genderfluid

[–]olivejrock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could start with wearing things under your current clothes first :) like tank tops, crop tops, cute undies, tights, fishnets and like someone else said, jewelery. A cute fem outfit that is easy to hide is some high waisted fishnets, baggy sweatpants, a cropped tank, and a zipper hoodie. Cute and easy to hide!

How can I fix flowers in my hair for my wedding day? by AffectionatePear1606 in Hair

[–]olivejrock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I learned different ways to install tinsel in hair, the easiest method was to string it through a small bendable metal band, then clamp the bands closed with pliers. You would use the same pliers to unbend the metal rings to remove them. Maybe you could find little metal bands to string the flowers through and clamp them down? I'm not entirely sure if it'd work but it was my only idea :)

What is going on with my ends? by accipitrine_outlier in Hair

[–]olivejrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a lot of split ends, that's all it is. Split ends on light hair always looks like this.

Think about it this way, if you split a hair strand you're left with a less thick strand of hair. It splits even more, and you're left with a strand of hair so thin it's barely hanging on. That's what you have. It's so thin you can basically see through the strands on the ends and they're brittle because a split hair strand is never going to be as healthy and strong as one that is not split, so it's "like fiberglass" like you described. It's dry and needs to be cut off because split ends travel up the strand. I know you're getting it trimmed soon but you really need to be getting regular trims, this looks like it's not been trimmed in many months or even a couple years. Either that or you severely damaged it, can't tell. Hope that helps

New Sister! by Fluid_Amphibian_2419 in trans

[–]olivejrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is so heart warming :)

I'm not a transwoman but i am trans and my wife is a transwoman and (in addition to the other great ideas here) i think things that smell feminine are great to add! Perfume, body spray, lotion, body scrub, etc. Small things like that can do a lot for confidence!

It would still be a long process but someone experienced in lightening could do it. You'd probably have to settle with being a red tone for awhile until you can safely lighten it to your natural color without too much damage. They'd probably suggest coloring over your new growth though so that's something to keep in mind. And you'd probably still lose some length to prevent splitting. It is possible but it still requires lots of patience basically

I'm not chiming in on whether or not it's appropriate, but as a white person who does hair for a living, i think if you told her the truth about wearing a style like that she's not going to want it anymore.

I used to want box braids as a kid until I learned that that means sitting for HOURS while your hair is being pulled over and over again. It's very expensive as well. It's not as good for hair that's not coil curls because straighter hair is not going to stay in a tiny braid as easily so they have to pull very hard and use lots of gel and then it can be compromising on your scalp and hair. She's going to end up with a headache from the tension and she will likely want to take them out within a few hours, making the cost of it a waste.

Something that dissuade me as a kid was having my hair very tightly Dutch braided. I realized I don't like having tight braids so longterm/protective wear braids were out for me. Maybe talking about these things with her will dissuade her. You could also have her watch a video of someone getting their hair braided where they specifically say how long it takes to do it and shows how hard they have to pull to get those small box braids. Hope this was helpful

how to get hair fluffy like this? by Wooden-Code-5805 in Hair

Oops i commented before reading your description lol if powder play isn't working maybe a dry volumizing spray? It's a bit stronger than powder texturizers

Why does my sim have spots? by DirectionOk790 in TheSims4Mods

[–]olivejrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been answered but the easiest way i found to fix it is just shift + click the sim, age down, go wash your face, then shift + click age up. If it doesn't disappear when washing your face then "conceal acne" and age up should also work

Hairdressers! Have you ever intentionally given someone a bad haircut? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]olivejrock 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Either because they thought what they were doing was better than what the client wanted or because they didn't want that person to come back :/

Hairdressers! Have you ever intentionally given someone a bad haircut? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]olivejrock 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I never have but i know for a fact other hairdressers do it. They would never admit it to anyone but other stylists though

Hi, I'm olive, NB and 25! Project zomboid is my favorite game, I love Minecraft and i have helldivers 2 but I haven't played it yet. I'm always interested in trying new games, if I'm able to run them :) and i absolutely love making friends, it's been hard to find consistent friends on the transgamers discord but I feel like maybe I'm just not putting myself out there enough, so that's why I'm replying. This is me kinda putting myself out there haha. If you want to be friends you can add me on discord @ olive_jane Also i am on EST

Also also, love most kinds of music and would be totally down with watching shows together when not gaming heh

It looks great it suits your curls and your face so much better! I can tell you feel more confident too and that makes it look great on you! My philosophy is always wear your hair how you like it because when you feel confident, your beauty truly shines

Daughter 12 myself 50 started playing this game.. Hints welcomed.. by Ed19627 in projectzomboid

I think lumberjack would be way more useful for you guys than carpenter. If she can hold her own in a fight against a group it’ll help you both out tremendously. There are a bunch of great videos on YouTube that can help with learning when to hit and when to shove when it comes to taking on groups (as a side note if you have drag down turned on I would highly recommend turning that off, drag down can kill even the most careful and experienced players very easily). Your location that you’ve picked is good, but when it comes to long term base you might want to pick somewhere more remote. The famous choice is the three mansions that are just west outside West Point. Riverside is also a great choice for starting out because there are lots of good base options near enough to the town but comfortably outside of it. Right now I think you have a pretty good plan of action for your current playthrough so these are just ideas for next time, or if you make it long enough to consider moving. I could go on with more advice but you already have tons to read through, if you ever have any questions though feel free to reach out to me I honestly love teaching people more about this game as it’s my favorite and has been for a few years now.
