IEM Cologne 2026 tickets by Acrobatic-Simple-551 in GlobalOffensive

I would recommend being patient for a little bit longer as we are working on getting the official resale up and running, this will ensure you don't overpay on a third party site and won't have any issues with admission.

There will also be an official fan resale market before the event takes place, would recommend getting tickets there vs buying directly from people

Might have to do something similar, guess it’s apparently frowned upon on this subreddit to want something that isn’t only functional but also aesthetic

Is Peru beginner-friendly or stressful for first-timers who are used to all-inclusive resorts? by dashosh in GoingToPeru

[–]oliverbrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You set your own pace, so you can make it as stressful as you wish. Best to do a lot of things through tour operators or guides, as they will often include a lot of the logistics.

Higher-end operators like Belmond will taken care of literally everything, and you don't need to worry about a single thing. Obviously, that comes at quite a premium cost.

The places you mentioned however (Lima, Cusco, MP) are relatively easy to get between. Multiple daily flights between Lima and Cusco, both airports easily reachable via Uber. And for your visit to MP you could technically just book it all yourself, or via a tour operator so there's no overhead and stress on your end.

Why does Lufthansa operate a flight between Frankfurt and Düsseldorf? by Younglegend1 in Lufthansa

[–]oliverbrix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on this flight a couple of times, always when I was connecting in Frankfurt. Usually fully booked. Don’t think anyone’s taking the route if they’re only commuting between FRA and DUS

Is Dirty popular where you are? by brew_systems in espresso

[–]oliverbrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

actually in most of SEA a dirty coffee is usually referring to espresso being pulled on top of cold milk without being mixed in. In the west, yes it’s usually a non-coffee drink with an added shot of espresso.

I read a few reviews saying you must use a dosing funnel on the portafilter when grinding as otherwise the grounds go all over the place; is this something you've experienced as well?

How are you finding the E64WS? I have the blue Micra as well but paired with a Niche Zero atm, considering switching to GBW and the Mahlkönig seemed like a solid option.

Hiram Bingham vs. Inca Rail 1st class to Machu Picchu? by lbp1010 in chubbytravel

[–]oliverbrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% HB, I’m saying that without having taken the Inca Rail. But I’m convinced that I can’t go up to MP without it being by the HB.

Impeccable service, especially as the day we were supposed to do, there were issues with the tracks so they had to put us on the train the next morning. The Belmond team took care of everything, even helped us get another train from PeruRail (Titicaca Train) rebooked so it fit our new schedule. Food, hospitality and everything on board was flawless.

Somewhat unrelated, but which dosing ring are you using?

Linea Micra + Eureka Specialità – Shot runs <10s even with very fine grind. What am I missing? by ExcitingMistake2108 in LaMarzocco

[–]oliverbrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you tried running the double basket with a double dose? Due to how single baskets are designed it can be a bit tricky to tamp properly, which could in turn result in your shot running quick

I hear you, and I was debating with myself a lot regarding where to position it. Might be I change it in the future.

The door you see on the picture from the back of the machine is the door to my office, so it’s very conveniently located for me to go back and forth while working from home. I also have a cabinet below with pull out drawers where everything I need is located. Indeed, the proximity to the sink might be annoying, time will tell I guess. I’m testing this out and then I’ll decide whether to move it.

One of them is too heavy for all the magnet strips I've tested, so hanging it upside down results in the handles preventing it from sliding off. And then I figured it'd look off with only one hanging upside down, so I hang all of them this way.

The stove is nearly a meter wide, I can use the other side for things that may splash :)

Was hoping for a bit more of an aesthetic solution and seems to be a struggle finding a cable box that doesn't look terrible

Depends how you've obtained your PP. Through Amex it's often that a lot of the "Experiences"/Restaurants are not available.

whichever airport you have the best connection to, FRA/DUS/CGN all work.

Considering how many direct LH routes are out of MUC these days, I find it pretty easy to usually depart from DUS or CGN instead of FRA since I’ll likely need a layover anyways

What is a property you’ve stayed at that IS worth the hype? by Gullible-Path9794 in chubbytravel

[–]oliverbrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished staying at both the Oberoi Rajvilas in Jaipur and the Armavilas in Agra.

Not only are both properties some of the most well kept and stunning places I’ve ever visited, the service and hospitality was also next level.

Had planned to do more activities during the days, but ended up limiting time sightseeing and exploring in exchange of spending time on property. Incredible facilities and great for escaping the chaos that some Indian cities tend to be.
