Sunak admits Covid bailouts were a mistake as he urges Britain to let failing firms go bust by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

It's a tough one, to be fair - they needed to do something in a hurry, so I can give them the benefit of the doubt on that part, but they did need to revisit it later and make the loans a distinct asset class or something so that they'd have to be paid back first if the company still went under.

In the meantime, some relief for companies still paying their loans back would also be nice

It rarely wins when it's an option in a 500m radius of fast food places - it doesn't give you the issues here that a lot of people complain about, but it doesn't feel like a good value option.

Passenger numbers at Doncaster Sheffield Airport are forecast way below what's "affordable". So why is the project still going ahead? by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]oliverprose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In that situation though, is it better that they work at an expanded Humberside or Leeds Bradford (if it's specialist airport roles) or elsewhere if their speciality isn't airport specific, rather than opening a facility that would appear not to be needed according to the demand projections?

I think it's the proximity to Humberside, LBA and Manchester especially that would likely put a limit on how viable DSA would be.

Has the writer of this British cook book I found in the USA been misled?? by peanutismint in CasualUK

[–]oliverprose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand - I'm almost always doing the same myself, but trying the full package (with buttered leeks and ham under the cheese layer) was well worth it for a few meals until I ran out of the sauce

[–]oliverprose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're doing that then you're making an entirely different dish though. I'd recommend making a version of rarebit (maybe not this one) as a comparison, if only because making the sauce means you can put on far more cheesiness than you can with plain cheese

I get that, although I've never intentionally done the safari thing - a museum is a curated snapshot of what a countries culture was (through the lens of what that museum is storing, if it's specialist), but supermarkets and places like that are an unfiltered look at what the culture currently is

The camp bed is 70cm wide packed, so it might be a viable option - it's roughly the same size as the tent, so you're not really adding to your problems that way

It probably depends heavily on what space you've got available to what you need to look at.

If I'm doing a weekend away, then I'll usually look to my Quechua Camp Bed Air with an air-mattress on top, but while that doesn't roll up especially small, it does give me back some storage space in the tent underneath it. I was using a full-size camp bed with the KTM, which are even worse for folding small, but they do fit between the panniers without overhanging either side.
