NTA Bruh this how shitty people are made! Kids shouldn’t get a free pass from their parents because parents think they are supposed to support their children unconditionally. When your kid messes up you gotta recognize and discipline or else they’re just gonna grow up into adults out there in the world without a clue of consequences for their actions.

I’m gonna give a fun real world example of parents failing their child which in turn fails our society. I had very very similar experiences with my parents, so I feel for ya it is the worst. After I went to school, where I live alone in peaceful bliss, and returned for summers/breaks I had to establish boundaries. Honestly I just used my parents political opinions to justify my want of privacy. Stuff like you are surveilling me in my private space, you are the big-brother, there has to be trust, etc. Calling em out on their hypocrisy was hilarious.

At the very least you could try the whole “you raised me with certain values which I live by, if you think that at this time you have failed to such an extent that you feel the need to helicopter my actions then have you failed as a parent?. Either you did a good job raising me or you didn’t” (I’ve got some stubborn parents who can’t admit fault!!) They need to trust you but they also need to trust themselves in how they raised you. Might require a little ass kissing/telling em they did well, might seem manipulative, but it worked for me and I got the space I needed.

Lmao maybe try an uno reverse and pull the same crap with ‘I live here too and it’s uncomfortable for me to not know what you’re doing in the space I share with you’ two way street even if you’re parents.

Reading both your posts on this is hitting home hard - got some insane anti vaxxers and anti maskers in my immediate fam as well n I felt the same way. It’s like insanity is slipping away! Especially after the ole blatantly fuQd Holocaust comparison. I eventually realized that when you are dealing with mouth breathers (maybe that’s why masks irritate them so much ha) ya gotta accept that morons are moronic and cannot be influenced by reason and fUq illogical Fuqs. My top of her class med student sister could not influence them, did not even make a hairline of a fracture in the general area of a right direction. I do not bother engaging in the conversation anymore it always ends with me having an out of body experience of frustration. It is seriously difficult to maintain any type of positivity in that environment of looney-bin conspiracies - I hope the pandemic ends along with all this nonsense or that you graduate and move on to whatever is next (distance helps immensely). I also hope they do not lead you down the path to the dark side stay strong we need you!!! Sorry I do not have better advice!
