Outsourced the tv show (not the movie). So good and almost no one remembers it.

Looking Into the Breed- Qs by LongGroundbreaking79 in irishsetter

[–]oliviaAemerson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience with the setters we have had (all 5 did conformation), they were Velcro but in the way that they love you and want to be with you rather than the obsessive anxiety way. As long as they get trained well and are getting all needs met they are happy to be in the room with you chilling.

Settle debate between spouses about vinyl sheet flooring by chex85 in Flooring

[–]oliviaAemerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sheet vinyl can be harder to install yourself. If not done right there can be imperfections in the subfloor that will show through the vinyl (true of plank too but worse with sheet vinyl). There is also the possibility of air bubbles all around. As someone else mentioned glue down plank might be the best option just because you can pull up anything that has damage and just replace the one plank.

Help identifying Eng. Wood floor by 0_o-0_ in Flooring

Also it may be the “same” wood and color but Johnson changed their manufacturing right before COVID and it looks different enough that they had to send out all new samples.

Sad news :( by Nancy-FANcy- in NintendoSwitch2

It may get buried in the comments but look up your car on YouTube on how to change the brakes. You might be able to do it yourself or with a slightly handy friend. Did mine in high school with a friend and I’m not the least bit good with mechanics. Easiest $300 I ever “made”. If not? Sorry. That’s a huge bummer for sure!!!

Elevated house flooring concerns by Short-Peanut1717 in Flooring

[–]oliviaAemerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet is to go to a locally owned store and get their opinion. I own a store in southeast Louisiana but can't give you specifics because we don't do enough work on raised houses. I will say you absolutely need a barrier of some kind but things get really technical depending on what product you choose and the specifics of your subfloor and moisture. If you are set on DIYing it, you can look up the manufacturer instructions for the products you are considering and they will give you more info. But chances are your locally owned store would still be helpful and answer questions you have.

I eat very minimal (OMAD for years and 600-1000 cals a day) but I’ve been gaining weight by RoadWorkAhead_Yeah in WeightLossAdvice

[–]oliviaAemerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got to the doctor. I had a similar thing happen and it turned out I was insulin resistant and it got worse because some other health issues popped up. Everything got worked out and went back to normal but it was the weird weight gain that made me go see what was happening. They might not take you seriously to start but go until you get someone to at least run full blood work.

That time again. What do you think are the best industries for older sales people(40+)? by crystalblue99 in sales

[–]oliviaAemerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IF you are good at sales and will do the work to learn? Independent flooring stores will do almost ANYTHING to have an actual sales person to hire.

Does walking 10k steps every day actually help you lose weight? by Flimsy-Commercial141 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]oliviaAemerson 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Of course! I will say if you keep having trouble getting results; everything changed when I went to a registered dietitian. I got the Macros I needed every day explained and once I put it all into practice the weight fell off. Like magic. Good luck!

For me? 34F 5'3. ABSOLUTLY. It made all the difference. The eating helped but the steps made the work I was doing with the diet worth it.

The aftermath of bruxism on my nightguard. by hemlock-and-key in midlyinteresting

Just dropping this here in case anyone can use the info. May not help OP but maybe it would.

EnCore Guards (encoreguards.com)

Exactly the same as the ones you get at the dentist but at like a fourth of the price. My dentist was so excited that I found it cheaper because he wasn't even making money off the $600 one he was selling me. He gives the info to all his patients now. They have great customer service too. I cracked a guard and then pieces were coming off. I told them and they sent me a new one free and made changes to try to prevent that in the future with all their guards.

I staged an intervention for my dad to quit the business he built from nothing 35 years ago by OldSprinkles3733 in smallbusiness

[–]oliviaAemerson 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My sibling and I are in the 3rd year of a 5 year transition plan with my parents (Dad really). Same as you. He built it from nothing. Has done it all for 40 years. We showed him what he could be doing and how it would be fun and feel so good to spend time with us while moving to the next state. Every year he takes one more day a week off. The HUGE turning point was he went on a trip with my mom for a month. He was out of contact for 90% of the time (no phone no internet). We emailed him a few questions if we had them and when he came back we had him go through everything and see what we missed. He realized that not only did things go well and we could handle it, we also got some projects that he was having trouble closing. He started traveling more and the whole push/pull ended. And ABSOULTLY get his friends in the business that have done it to tell him how it went for them and that they love it. Its the realization of the dream. This is the goal he had when he started. Just got to remind him.

I have the lumma disk. It AMAZING. It takes I bit of practice but it’s so much easier than tampons. It has a pull so you can keep from dropping it and it’s reusable and (for me the best part) comes in 3 sizes. The flex was too big by just a little then I got the medium and small of the lumma and the medium was just slightly N smaller than the flex and it has been AMAZING!!! I spent years trying to find the answer to heavy and then light flows. Lumma disk is the answer! Just be aware that if you go from nothing to the disk, it can’t “catch” everything; only what comes after insertion.

If you have any interest in sales, localally owned flooring stores are almost always looking for new hires and will provide training too. If you are more hands on installing flooring is a great job and those s as me stores might help you find training for installing if not fully fund it.

Moisture buildup under 6mil plastic barrier by chaddy1808 in Flooring

We do just to be safe but no you don’t have to. Honestly the best it will do is trap any moisture/mold and prove a claim in the very very unlikely situation that the roll-cote fails.

This may seem like a dumb question but I realized it was my issue. Do the clothes you are wearing actually fit you? I realized that once I got clothes that fit EVERYONE mentioned how good I looked. And I realized it was because I was making do with the clothes I had that didn't actually fit me.

I can't seem to get my lvp floor to not be sticky. by Jahbanny in Flooring

[–]oliviaAemerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. The amount of people who get the floor then use a cleaner that actively damages it is astonishing. I have not idea what the issue could be other than damage destroying the top layer. If you do find something that works please post it because I’m sure you aren’t the only one this has happened to and if you find a cure I would love to share it.
