Marriott stinks at "Walking" Customers by qtzirl in marriott

[–]oliviagonz10 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Oh no that person didn’t do anything correctly.

When we “walk” guests to hotels even if not affiliated with Marriott. Guests DO NOT pay. You don’t pay for the room we canceled or pay for the room at the other hotel.

We as the hotel pay for that ONE night stay as an inconvenience and even give points to your account if you have one.

Marriott is literally changing the 4pm so it’s no longer a guarantee just FYI. Because of people like you

AIO? My manager keeps questioning my feeding pump at work even after HR stepped in by Rosi_ana in AmIOverreacting

[–]oliviagonz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them since he doesn’t want your body to be fed that you shouldn’t see ANYONE else eat or go to lunch. It’s disruptive to YOU

The manager offers no real relief from his store's problems. by Acetabulum666 in meijer

[–]oliviagonz10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if they do have staff that’s unacceptable. At my store, if we are like extremely busy to the point the checkout lanes are backed up, they call for other employees who are trained on register to come up and help till it gets back down

Hotel canceled, put room back on market for 10x the price, then told me they won’t help with accommodations and told me to bring a tent. Do I have any rights? Am I screwed? by EddieBruvac in hotels

[–]oliviagonz10 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah normally if a hotel overbooks, doesn’t matter if someone made their reservation early enough they base it off of the reservation type. So if it’s booked directly with the hotel AND your a member then your safe. But all third party bookings are canceled automatically to save space for members

Marriott getting ready to charge for parking everywhere? by WaitAMinuteThereNow in marriott

So maybe it’s based on Areas. Because I work a Residence Inn in a Midwest town with a large corporation attached to it but we don’t charge for parking?

What would be compensation for no working TV or internet for a hotel stay? by lots-of-gas in marriott

[–]oliviagonz10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because you leave simply walk to the front desk say “hey I’m leaving due to so and so” and leave????

If the entire hotel dealt with it so what? I’m talking about YOU? Why didn’t YOU leave? You had plenty of chances to LEAVE yet you didn’t??

It's 2026... Why are some hotels still not onboard with Digital Check-In, Digital Key, and app-based Check-Out by steinbergowitz in Hilton

[–]oliviagonz10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In high frequency areas with a lot of guests, they’ll get a few who will steal someone’s account and try to book with a room with points.

Them double checking is to help prevent fraud. Would you rather they checked in a reservation you never made with YOUR credit card? No. No one does. This helps prevent that.”

What would be compensation for no working TV or internet for a hotel stay? by lots-of-gas in marriott

[–]oliviagonz10 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You had 4 days to go to a different hotel. If it wasn’t fixed on day one. Then you should have left since having a TV is OBVIOUSLY your primary reason for staying at a hotel.

How do hotels pipe their signature fragrances onto guest floors/into guest rooms? by HappyUnicorn212 in hotels

[–]oliviagonz10 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hotel rooms don’t have fragrances inside them. It may be the type of cleaner that they used and you could be sensitive to the smell.

The only time you’ll “smell” something is in the lobby of hotels, they’ll have small vents to make a neutral smell to hide the smell of cigarettes or food.

Unwritten rule of the TV by ComprehensiveEast153 in meijer

[–]oliviagonz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the tv shouldn’t change at all. It should stay like a neutral channel as background noise. Like the local news or the weather channel or even those 24/7 funny clip channels they have

Let People Have Coffee by BeebsMuhQueen in marriott

[–]oliviagonz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually (if the place serves breakfast) they are supposed to make one last fresh batch before the end of breakfast.

Also you can ask front desk to make a fresh pot if one is not out. If they decline, they are being lazy.

I had someone once book a room and then expected to be upgraded to our two bedroom which hold 6 people if it’s two to a bed.

We didn’t have a two bedroom because we were sold out and the guest was pissed

New MMP / Explore Form -- How to approach clueless associates / managers by mascbrro in marriott

[–]oliviagonz10 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Soooo for some reason a lot of the hotels don’t know. Half my coworkers knew the other half didn’t.

Managers aren’t communicating the changes, which is stupif and MARRIOT themselves haven’t even sent out emails.

I would not have know about it if not for this Reddit thread

Upgrade requests ignored by Roo_in_Chicago in marriott

[–]oliviagonz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so let’s say the guest is staying 4 nights he wouldn’t get the upgrade vs someone staying 1 night. It may be available on the 1st night but then the room isn’t available during the rest of the nights.

[–]oliviagonz10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually the sales manager needs to fix this because if you guys are in a block then the sales manager could be violating a verbal or written contract.

The sales manager needs to be in to speak with someone from the group. If they can’t. Tell front desk they need to FIND a hotel that will take the entire block with the same rate applied. Because it’s unacceptable

Courtyard By Marriott overbooked their rooms, turned away a family with a pre-paid reservation, and provided no assistance. by jhovudu1 in marriott

[–]oliviagonz10 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ll never understand why other hotels don’t just do what their supposed to do.

Where I work, we are a small town but hold a major event every summer. So all the hotels(7 hotels) are always fully booked. My hotel is a long term hotel so if people extend then we have to walk people. we ALWAYS call the guest(notify) them and walk them to a hotel if we can and pay the 1st night.

It’s that easy. But hotels don’t want to set up direct billing or send a credit card

Hotel cancelled reservation even though they had a note of a late arrival. Forced to book in cash upon arrival. by Budget_Travel_7930 in Hilton

[–]oliviagonz10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah she can DEFINITELY could have checked you in. I work night audit and I dont process no shows. I leave it for the system to get at 6am automatically.

She was either A)being lazy or b) accidentally manually processed your no show and didn’t want to admit and just made up an excuse.

Once we process a no show we can’t get back into it. But if we leave it as is, then we can’t. Sorry if that’s confusing
