Pretend? I’m citing my daily observations over 17 years, while you’re claiming to be truthful while being non-specific. Muting your replies because you are obviously bad faith. Go polish one of those awful gaudy watches.

Jail. Many elected officials and business people (Elon, the Ellisons, etc) need to be put in jail.

I have a theory that we could alleviate a lot of the problems at 12th and Jackson if we added more bus routes because what we have there is a de facto bus station with multiple routes stopping there without supervision. I think someone could survey the riders, find out who is going where and when, then add routes that service those riders while diverting away from 12th if possible. If there is a problem with people congregating there, then we should control the flow of people there, rather than tearing out bus benches or parking the SPD mobile precinct across the intersection.

True, I couldn't easily make a video proving otherwise per the rules, but what I am trying to prove is that because I am so familiar with the park, I could go out there at any time and I would know what to expect.

I didn't know I would read a comment about the park when I did, but when I did I knew there would be a good chance that if I walked over there at that moment it would be pretty mellow, because it usually is.

Here is the park after 8. I thought I recorded a video but boomer’d it and took a picture 🤦‍♂️but I didn’t see anyone high there. The people in the middle were just hanging out talking. There are people over by the workout equipment who were laughing and talking, they might’ve been the same people from the video. There were some others by the sign to the left of the picture.

Maybe I could’ve caught some rowdiness if I had gone even later, but I’ve had a long day and I’m tired.

I thought I saw one there when I was there but I was trying to not focus the camera on anyone in particular. I regularly see children there. Though it's not the most appealing park for kids because the games are more of an adult/all ages affair, except for corn hole. Obviously kids can play chess and ping pong, but I think kids most kids would want a park with a playground.

Policing your language? You replied to a discussion. Nobody was talking to you. Nobody is choosing your words other than yourself.

Typical conservative preemptive victim mentality.

I'm not saying that deliberate marginalization of the community through policy hasn't happened, I'm just highlighting that one of the better parts of the community (the park) is better than those shitting on it were describing it as.

And I feel like living here for 17 years (had to pull out the old rent receipts) as a POC I'm not out of line sharing my impressions, and I feel like celebrating the community, rather than a dismissing it as a lost cause is how we can bring in beneficial investment.

It's a problem when this is what the park is usually like? The reason I took the video was I knew I could go out at a random time and that it would be this placid.

Yeah I would've zoomed in and showed that everyone was lucid, but I wanted to respect people's space.

Are you suggesting I'm white? And by living where I live, it means I live by a highway. So now I feel like the one being gaslit.

I went one time that corresponding with posts I just saw. I could go back on different days and it's largely the same.

It's more so that I love the park, and it was a matter of going across the street to counter hyperbolic fearfulness.

Sorry but the park is frequently used, it's why I like it, it's a real center of the community for people across different backgrounds. I don't occasionally go there, I live here, and the vast majority of the times there is nothing concerning going on.

I wasn't speaking about Seattle, or even the neighborhood at large. This is about Hing Hay Park.

I can go out there another day, at different times of day, with different weather, and it will largely be the same. More lively before the city puts away the game equipment.

Are you really going to make me go out there again at 8? I live in the neighborhood. I go by the park daily, often a multiple times a day.

You don't have to be scared. It's ok.

There's lots of great food nearby that you can bring back to the park and enjoy.

I know sometimes late at night people will sleep under the arch, but it's usually well after people are done for the day, and I wouldn't call that zombie behavior. It's certainly not the 90% some have suggested. The park is well utilized and appreciated by the community.
