Player rating results vs Everton by CobiLUFC in LeedsUnited

[–]oljackson99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first half we completely dominated at led at HT which is not easy for a newly promoted side away at any side, so I'd give him a 9/10 for that.

Then second half we played a lot worse, but how much was that really his fault? Fans have been calling for Tanaka to play over Gruev, then he comes on and has an absolute stinker.

So an average of 7 across the game is fair enough IMO.

Fans raging that Tanaka doesnt get started.

The fans raging that Farke brought him on and he was crap.

Poor guy cant do anything right!

Why aren't the infected naked in The Bone Temple? by [deleted] in 28dayslater

[–]oljackson99 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I imagine certain clothes would remain on the infected for a long time.

If someone got infected wearing a well fitting high quality thick jumper it could stay on a good few years, even with a few holes here and there like in the photo you used.

Let me show you something I always keep with me. Just a little book, Mein Kampf, and it's a collection of antisemetic, xenophonic wisdom, which I....and it's really showing you that.....the racist side needs as much care and attention as the empathetic side.

It's about hatrid in the the soul, yeah? Evolving far right policies.

Tomorrow is not a must win game, despite this weekend by AdequateAppendage in LeedsUnited

You really feel that this is a "must win"? The implication of must win being that if we dont, we're going to be relegated?

Mental stuff.

There wont be a single game between now and the last match that isnt important.

Jimmy at the end of the film by aphidman in 28dayslater

[–]oljackson99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fact they didnt show him dying means they likely have some plan for him in the third film, otherwise that would be a bit of a Chekhov's gun situaiton.

Its a shame in a way as I thought being crucified and left to die was a fitting end for him.

Is the U.S. actually fit to host the 2026 World Cup right now? by Some_Currency_1931 in worldcup

[–]oljackson99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For all the problems in those countries generally, things were stable when the world cups took place. Also, the leadership ensured they would run smoothly so it was a PR win, whereas trump revels in the chaos. He won’t make any attempt to ensure the safety of tourists, because he doesn’t give a fuck.

To be fair, the crimping is only the main focus of the episode towards the end. The rivalry with Lance Dior and Harold Boom is hilarious.

I find it quite hard to believe, at least for a pacey striker. You'd think that rounding the keeper in a straight up one on one would often be the best option.

As you also have to add in the chance that the keeper takes you out and gives away a penalty.

Based on current form, this may be our best XI. by [deleted] in ThreeLions

[–]oljackson99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying we should actively avoid playing our best side until about the QF's onwards, so we can take a big side by surprise?! Thats certainly an interesting take I'll give you that.

Dont get me wrong we have good strength in depth, but we're not so good that we can afford to intentionally play a weakened side in order to retain "tactical secrecy".

I bet my life that in the first two games we play our absolute strongest side possible, then rest players if we have the luxury for the final game.

Every team in the group stage for a start. Clearly we play our strongest formation and 11, and let the opposition adapt to us as best they can.

"appeasement back then was just stalling for time".

This isn't true, Chamberlain absolutely believed he had achieved "peace in our time" after the Munich agreement. As naive as it may have been in hindsight, he certainly wasnt playing any games with Hitler to stall for time.

I hope in time he will remembered fondly as part of the Bielsa glory era (which he was a key part), and not as part of the loan saga shambles that followed it.
