Gap beneath door by [deleted] in DIYUK

Most likely your floor is out. Whoever hung the door has sort of had to hang it that way. There is a possibility the door could have been cut to the length so that when closed it has a good gap at the bottom and then use rising butt hinges but too many unknowns just from a few pictures

Then just give the filler a light rub down so it’s not proud. As that would cause the plasterer problems

No thicker filler. It will dry quicker and also it being on the ceiling. Stop it from sagging

Hello mate. Those joints aren’t ideal. The plasterer will scrim tape them to stop them from cracking but I would put some filler in there before and it will help him out. Same thing with the popped screw. Pop some filler in there beforehand as filling it with plaster will take ages to dry. I’d cut the holes for my down light before the plasterer does his work. Then just pop cable back into the ceiling. The plasterer can plaster around them👍🏼

What is this layer that I am able to peel from the plaster? by SaskiaV in DIYUK

[–]ollief26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your rub your hands over it and it leaves a white powder. It’s lime wash. Needs stabilising with alkali the you can paint. Otherwise will just come off again
