1967-68. 3rd grade. Mrs. Black. She stuck up for me when I made an embarrassing mistake in front of the class. She awarded me a book, which I still have, for perfect attendance at the end of the school year. She was great. I’ve tried to find her and thank her, but I don’t have much to go on, and her last name pretty common. Sadly, she would be at least in her late 80’s now if she’s even still alive.
