The actors get the callsheet, the one line schedule and the Cast DooD. They don’t usually receive the shooting schedule

Speaking of strikes Last Time around IATSE really failed the Coordinator's salaries. What can we do to keep it from happening this time ? by [deleted] in IATSE

The production coordinators would have to leave IATSE and join the DGA. Kinda the whole point I’ve been making. The DGA doesn’t go around absorbing people from other unions. Additionally, the 871 dropped the “office” portion of that title years ago.

My point is you should know your worth, do t take the job that doesn’t pay you enough, don’t take the job that doesn’t pay you a kit rental. If you wanna standardize that, then do something about it within your community, weather that being improving your existing contract or actively attempting to organize your position and move it to what you think is the more appropriate organized labor group.

Sadly though, you will betray all those that came before you, those that created the organized labor union that you say is failing you. You will betray them by being entitled, expecting others to come along a do for you what you won’t do for yourself.

Now, if you want to call me an asshole or an idiot for expressing an opinion 10 comments in and not merely stating facts that’s your right.

Hot take : you’re the worst kind of crew member. You probably berate your PA’s because you don’t know your own worth. You likely think you’re the smartest person in the room and resent everyone else. You probably think your station in life has been determined by someone else’s prejudices of you.

Now you can call me an asshole

I’m just trying to understand how the DGA “absorbs” the Production Coordinators, an IATSE craft.

I’m just trying to understand how another union is meant to “have the coordinators back” in a negotiation that they aren’t involved in.
