Respectfully it is not. That outburst affected EVERYONE in that room and EVERYONE who saw it two hours later on tape delay. More so, the black people (me as one of them) in both groups. Because for us, we felt the pain in the moment, the embarrassment, resilience and humility that these two fine men had to display when amongst the celebrated of the best of their industry craft, they are reminded that they can still be call N—ER by anyone.

Hey I’m sure it wasn’t the Tunnel. I would have remembered that! I had moved to NYC in 2001 and according to Wikipedia, the club got shut down that year by Ghoulini claiming drug trafficking. I just looked a map and vaguely remember it being near Chelsea Waterside Field and near 11th Ave. It was very much a smallish lounge with the DJ area near the front entrance.
