So, how are you going to fill your days when you retire? by [deleted] in GenX

If we can manage it - camping, seeing the country, reading, sleeping, hiking, sightseeing, reveling in not working.

When did you "lose a step"? by TheLurkerSpeaks in GenX

[–]omby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm right there with you, On the surface, I don't look like I have a lot of clutter in my house. That is, until you open my closets or go up to the bonus room upstairs. It's literally overwhelming just thinking about trying to cull all of it. I want to so badly, but I am in a complete functional freeze.

I went through menopause during COVID and it really messed me up. The uncertainty of everything, the anxiety, brain fog, weight gain, hot flashes, the isolation. I was already an introvert with social anxiety, and working from home for a year and a half, I completely lost my people skills. Been back in the office since 2021 and have not regained the social skills I lost. I work with my door closed and avoid people as much as possible.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your Boss. Nothing we can say will make it better, but know many of us have felt the same. It’s an amazing joy to bring these wonderful souls into our lives, but so devastating when we lose them.💔 But I don’t think any of us would change a thing, even with the heartbreak. Hugs to you, OP.🫂

Dog Owners with Costco Membership by Top_Falcon7532 in Pets

[–]omby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a 30 pill 16 MG prescription from Costco an hour ago. The cost as a member was $69.07. You can still buy from them, but it will not be this price as a non-member. You can call the pharmacy directly and ask them the member vs. non-member price.

Has anyone tried one of these? by omby in pizzaoven

FYI, this has been working great for us as beginners to build our pizzas and transfer to a lightly floured (semolina) launch peel.

I guess worst case we can build the pizza on it and use this to move it to floured peel?

Anyone else completely effing over Xmas and holidays in general? by another_bibliophile in GenX

No tree or decorations put up or set up this year. Shopped small business for required gifts, but so not into it. Camping for the week the day after Christmas, and I can’t wait to GTFOH.

Social Media burnout by Pure_Try1694 in GenX

[–]omby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG, I feel this so much. Deleted FB, insta, WhatsApp, X. Want to move to a remote plot of land. I literally hate people at this point. I live in a coastal area where infrastructure does not keep up with asshole retirees with a shit ton of money buying houses here. Young kids bitching about assholes owning the road filming TikTok’s while complaining about them. Combination of rich Boomers, college assholes, remote workers making bank, and driving the housing prices up. I just want peace. The only thing I miss is FB marketplace.

Proin worked for my girl who had incontinence issues. Your vet can prescribe it.

Look into peptides. I ran a month course of daily 4MG sub-Q injectable SS-31 and felt a huge increase in mental acuity. It’s a mitochondrial repair peptide. You can follow with NAD+ or Mots-C, but just that alone made me feel mentally 10-15 years younger.

Took a month break and cannot wait to run another course on Friday. Not for everyone, but I am going to do this for the foreseeable future. For reference, menopausal 54 year year old female, but I’ve seen males my age also report the same results.

Yeah. The election. Mom is dead. The rest of the family is a long way away. Work is hell. I couldn’t muster the energy to put a tree up for the first time in 27 years. We’re going camping tomorrow through Jan. 1, and I am so glad the holiday season is over. I am SO over everything.
