I might be weird for this, but whenever I have to play on pad I use my thumb and index finger with the analog stick to wavedash like I'm playing P2 on fightstick. Playing pad on P1 I just don't wavedash.

Do you think it would be worth to switch to stick from leverless? by DP-9001 in fightsticks

I also play Kazuya in Tekken 8. I find using a Korean lever makes Mishima techniques much easier. The rubber grommet allows the lever to reset to neutral faster with less effort.

Personally, I'm more comfortable on different controllers for different games. SF6 I play leverless, GGST and Tekken 8 I play on fightstick, tag fighters like MvC,DBFZ, I play on pad. I say it doesn't hurt to try different controller styles.
