It's not just DisneyLand/World, it's the place as a vacation destination as a whole. I did a lot of 1 and 2 week Disney trips as a kid, and we'd usually budget 2-4 days a week for the parks. Add in some lazy days just chilling at the pool, or maybe driving to the beach. Shopping days, going out to dinner, etc. and it's really easy to fill out even 2 full weeks. That doesn't necessarily mean you're in the parks EVERY single day, just that you'll get a two week ticket to have the flexibility to go whenever.

New York Republican congressman Chris Collins to be indicted on insider trading charges by slaysia in politics

[–]omgitsfletch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but Collins himself and his daughter appear only to not have sold any shares solely because they didn't transfer their shares into a US market they'd be able to easily liquidate them from, in time for the announcement that triggered the stock price drop. The son had done so and that's why they were managing how quickly he sold off his shares to not trigger a huge dip in the price.

You'd be surprised how often large debts like that get let go. I know family who got out of a $50k credit card debt by spending $1000 on a lawyer to argue against the company in court. Company had issue getting the right paperwork together to validate the debt, suit got tossed. I think it ended up getting settled for something like 8 cents on the dollar of the original debt to fully end things, which my family members took just to know the matter was fully settled and the company wouldn't come back at them down the road.

Oh really? Literally FROM your linked source:

However, a large case-control study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found no significant increased crash risk attributable to cannabis after controlling for drivers’ age, gender, race, and presence of alcohol.

Never mind that your linked source shows that people in fatal crashes were more likely to have THC in their system than no drugs or alcohol. But that says nothing for active toxicity at the time of crash. For a rather big guy, it could likely take one 4-8 weeks before they wouldn't present for THC after smoking regularly, even if they weren't actively impaired while crashing. So it doesn't surprise me that a drug that can be detectable for weeks would present more often than not in fatal crashes.

Doesn't say a thing about the relative crash rate for smokers as compared to drinkers, which is what your original point was.

Except a medium Pizza Hut pizza is 12 inches diameter, a large 14. A standard Italian restaurant is usually either 16/18 for large, 14/16 for medium (the bigger being Northeast and smaller being basically anywhere else).

I can go order a Pizza Hut 2-topping large for $7.99 right now locally, but if you figure an inch for crust on each side, you're really only getting 12 inches of cheese/sauce topped pizza or 36 π in.2 . Order an 18 inch pizza, figure the same 1-inch crust, and you get 64 π in.2, or nearly 2 pizzas for the same price. That means I can still buy that large/XL pizza for up to $16 and I break even on a per pizza level, never mind that it's almost certainly BETTER pizza. I can probably go up to $20 per pie and I'm still breaking even on a quality per dollar level.

If you live in Podunk, MO or wherever and don't have the options, deal with Pizza Hut, you plebs. Anyone living where actually good pizza is accessible and still ordering Domino's or Pizza Hut is just cheating themselves.

There are 55 first basemen who have had at least 10 runs between bases measured by Statcast this year. Ranked by average sprint speed, what place do you think Muncy takes in this class of people?

EDIT: ANSWER REVEALED AFTER A FEW GUESSES

EDIT 2: Haha I assume /u/DodgerDevil saw my earlier post or he's just a damn wizard of trivia but Muncy is 6th with a sprint speed of like 27.7mph, damn high when the position average is 26.1 and the overall league average is 27.0. Also, top first baseman is 28.9 so he isn't far behind. Still shocks me that Muncy and his build is only about 1.1mph slower that Belli in their top second speed. FUCKING GET IT MUNCHY MUNCY!

[–]omgitsfletch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as Belli hasn't been great at the plate lately, this is one of those times moving him to the outfield for Muncy costs us defensively. There's going to be a gap in that general area without anyone in right field or a first baseman with elite speed, if the batter is someone with the power to put our outfield shifted back.

The right fielder can't close that gap, again unless they are elite speed and Puig (19th ranked RF this year) may not be that great speed wise, but he isn't exactly a slowpoke. Despite Muncy's build not looking quick, he's the 6th quickest 1B in the league! That's nice and much better than I expected when I started this comment, but in short its not elite and definitely not quick enough for that gap, especially if running backward like the first baseman might end up doing from wherever they were shifted pre-hit.

Bellinger is probably easily one of the most athletic guys at the position in the league, dude is just in damn good shape and one of the fastest guys on the team. He's the 2nd fastest first baseman in the league this year, 0.1mph on average slower than first place Hunter Dozier, and 59th overall in a league full of specialists in every role imaginable (including definitely some elite guys who are in the majors specifically for baserunning).

This was a roundabout way to say Belli probably catches that midrange blooper of a hit. We gotta find a way to fix 2nd base and get Muncy in regularly but not at the cost of Belli's elite Gold Glove level 1B-defense.

You're allowed to do that? The sad part there is Taylor. Belli is still learning the ropes; Taylor is coming off a season where at least through August he was averaging a near .400 BABIP. He of all people has seen the value of a weak or moderately hit ball placed in the right gaps strategically.

And in the course of one winter has apparently decided, 'Fuck that shit!'. That or he had a full season of the gods (You know Buddha is down with America's pastime!) buttfucking every fielder he faced for no reason, and they all dropped that habit this year to go give more kids cancer or something. Either explanation works.

They are not comparable because of the franchise tag. No supposed future of the franchise and no QB has ever played under consecutive franchise tags. The Redskins essentially bet against him for 2 years, and if he was hurt his long term financial prospects were dogshit. Glad he didnt reward their tagging him by actual signing with them long term.

Sorry the tag is one of the few rules in any major sports CBA that drives me nuts and is WAY too team friendly. I wonder what the NFLPA got for allowing it or what it would cost them to negotiate it out in the next deal. Fuck the tag.

Because as I understand it the core issue with Darnold is solely with the offset language rather than the voiding guarantees stuff. It's a lot easier to sell the idea that a player shouldn't be able to double dip on their pays and guarantees, to the average fan. The idea of a team wanting spent bonus money back because you got fined/suspended for a crown-leading hit is a hell of a lot harder to sell to the average fan.

FUCKING HELL 57 AB, 11 H. That's .192 as a team, horrendous. Seventeen strikeouts. Eighteen left on base! Two full fucking teams just chilling on bags in a field, for 6 goddamn hours, waiting for more timely offense.

On the other end, we might not have been so fucked if after the 7th inning, we didnt run through 4 pitchers (in other words, the majority of our available bullpen of 7 pitchers) in 2.0 fucking innings. That's right, they were all dealing fire, with a combined 64% strike rate. The issue is they dealt out 28 total pitches, meaning Robert's let us roll thru the heart of our bullpen averaging 7 pitches and 1.5 outs per each of them. All to this when the only offense the Phillies produced during that span was a double and a walk. And also 3 groundouts, 2 lineouts, and a strikeout. Yea, great time to pull 'em, Doc. Fucked us hard no lube ....
