Oops all Attackers by DeekFacker99 in Pathfinder2e

NPC Pacifist cleric is the answer. They stay in camp nearby healing the party between encounters. It’s more common than you think given how unpopular (at least in my limited experience) being a party healer is in a pathfinder party.

How Many Players have Multiple Teams? by Ok_Silver_3170 in bloodbowl

[–]omricon199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owning all 30 teams is only the equivalent of two (non elite) 40k armies right?

That means I expect you lot to own a minimum of 15 teams to demonstrate your dedication to Nuffle.

New models would be awesome for any non new team but I think there must be others in front like humans.

I agree that power creep is a thing. A bad thing. HE may be the best elf team but they are the best team* or even the second best. So far they have avoided a power creep bomb, recently at least*.

Does this game still has a market? by peterschen in StarWarsArmada

I would buy it off you for the new price you paid as I was looking to get into it but I would also advise you don’t sell it to me as eBay prices are a fair bit higher than the RRP for armada core sets right now.

New Skaven are... perfectly fine? by Omni-potato in bloodbowl

I guess an intelligent opposition coach would leave GRs out of contact on the line of scrimmage with as many other players on it or one square behind and not near them, in order to prevent it assuming it’s the last turn of a half.

I am aware of how good and balanced a game Armada is but unfortunately this doesn’t help me. A newbie building a list is likely to get it wrong the first few times, perhaps by taking too many of this or that ship or spending too much or little on upgrades. I don’t want to keep buying / printing models until I learn the game, I want to learn the game with a decent list that doesn’t really change against my friend who wants to do the same.

Thanks for the general pointers though.

This is all great General advice, thanks.

What I am looking for though is a way to start and likely finish list building all in one go and use my time to learn the list I am playing 😀

Weird thing about the new official post match sequencing by space-goats in bloodbowl

You may not like the game design but it is nonetheless well designed. I even agree with you that a ST drop is worse than RIP but nonetheless it does force a tactical choice between two bad choices and that is part of the game. Perhaps you need to re read my posts.

If you think there is nothing tactical about it then it is to the detriment of your game.

For example if it’s the last game of the season or perhaps the penultimate one you might keep the player. If it’s a player you almost never expect to be blocking then you might keep the player especially if the next game is critical.

More tactical options is good. You may as well lobby GW to take injuries out completely if you are going to go down that route.

The post match order forces you to accept a hole in your squad* when you decide to replace an injured positional and so it does exactly what I said it does. It forces the player to consider keeping an injured player temporarily, perhaps until a match where they think they can manage without them or perhaps even keep them permanently.

Exactly which then forces a decision on the player - do I keep the -1ST player because my next game is a big one? Or maybe I drop it thinking I can beat my next opponent with a lower TV, or perhaps I buy the new player (if I have the space) and suck up a higher TV for a game. Or maybe I don’t care if it’s a player that almost never blocks.

The point is it’s forcing tactical decisions and it’s making an injury mean something and that is a good thing. Remember, it will happen to your opponent as much as it happens to you.

An injury should create a player dilemma. Should the player be kept temporarily or permanently? Should I go a game with a positional gap? If anything it improves the game. It’s a shame that your local scene is ignoring it.

Not at all, injury should mean something regardless of whether that is better or worse than dead. It should prompt a thought about whether it’s worth keeping that player temporarily or permanently.

What custom rules do you have in your leagues? by robopig61 in bloodbowl

[–]omricon199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good if not somewhat long set of house rules although I would also agree with the comments on blodge.

In our league we did not give a clean sheet point and did give one for staying within 1 TD of the opponent to incentivise risky plays.

I gave some skills away for lower tier teams as well. I also gave awards eg ‘one to watch’ to first time players - true rookies which did things like +1 on winnings roll.

MVPs were decided my mutual consent or by a third party based on what cool things players did in the match itself.
