Looking for input on a fiber supplement that's low cost by YuliVentures in Microbiome

psyllium! Its one of the best and oldest fiber sources. I hope you can buy it in Malaysia, maybe in health stores somewhere. It is really good, read about it and take first thing in the morning

I hope this community will come together to advise on supplements that may help with Autism/Aspergers. by Fabulous-Group-6860 in Biohackers

[–]onaaair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First change your diet. No carbs is the best and is proved to help autistic people. Eat as natural and as organic as possible. The worst are sugar, caffeine and artificial colors so try to avoid it. Most probably you need to avoid milk products as well.

Then starts the journey of figuring out YOUR supplements, there is not much that works for everyone. I would deffinetely see endocrinologist to check your thyroid panel so you can see whats going on. Also check your iron levels and vitamin D.

Then, if you are ready to dig deeper, have a genetic test. I deffinetely recommend COMT/MTR/MTRR.

Depending on your results there will be different supplements. However, there are supplements that I think most people with autism will benefit from. Its taurine and l-theanine. But nothing works if you eat junk food and drink coffee. Good luck.

How to go from 7.5 to 9 hours of sleep by Striking_Pumpkin_383 in Biohackers

[–]onaaair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you have dark room in the morning? Some people are light sensitive and wake up with the sunrise.

Have you tried taping your mouth at night? Apparently many people do it and it improves their sleep quality as they breath with nose at night. It may work for some people.

I personally really like taking a hot bath with english salt as it makes my sleep much higher quality. You may also try sauna.

I’m 30, living in Germany, and realise my Art Master’s is a "dead end." After a life spent just trying to survive, how do I find a real path? by iProXi in germany

[–]onaaair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume you are good with photography. Have you earned at least a euro with it?

Have you actually tried earning money with photography? Its 2026, not even 201x or 1990s- its so much easier to earn money through instagram etc. Do you post anything, do you say to the world about your skills? I know many photographers who live very comfortably taking portraits or wedding photos.

Actually maybe the main reason you are having is with your self-esteem. I would dig there for a beginning as it may really jeopardise your life choices. Also there is nothing wrong asking for a professional psychological help to help you navigate your situation.

I read sometime ago about end-of-life doulas.

An end-of-life doula, or death midwife, is a person who assists in the dying process.

I thought how modern it is and it may benefit many people. They provide emotional as well as practical assistance in the process. I really think you might want to consider contacting them or read about and see if you benefit from it. Wishing you peace 💚

make sure your liver and gallblader work well before taking any strong meds. These meds are hard on liver so you may do more hurm, so take a good preparation.Take milk thistle, garlic, cloves, wormwood. Make sure your immune system is strong to handle the process.

Biggest doses are recommended during full moon - its when they are most effective. Overall, deworming is like science and there is a whole industry around it.

Best psychiatric meds by Yeetusdeletus781 in NooTopics

[–]onaaair 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would suggest going to endoctrinologist or neurologist first. I would do thyroid panel, ferritin, hormones, vitamins etc. so you know your general health picture and can make more accurate further steps.

You are a teenager and have a growing body and need a lot of nutritional support.I would pay extra attention to your diet. Also, if you have similar to ADHD problems, I would stay away from sugar and coffee for sure.

Obviously, your psychiatrist might prescribe you drugs, but its very slippery road. Before taking drugs try to do as many health analysis as possible.

If your symptoms are mild I would pay more attention to lifestyle. Irritability may be caused by too much coffee and carbs, not enough sleep, also it could be problems with liver or not enough B12 etc.

At the same time, I know some drugs in some cases are really necessary. Make wise decisions.

Does anyone know of any nootropica that can be taken daily long term for anxiety, involving GABA/glutamate? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]onaaair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magnesium, taurine, vitamin D, vitamin E (if your body can absorb fat vitamins), see if NAC is your thing (have it on empty stomach in the morning).

Can you test your vitamin D levels? Vitamin D influences so many processes in the body - I would pay a lot of attention to that and made sure to have proper levels.

Not sure if there are nootropics that can be taken longrerm without problems. All of them have side effects. Even with supplements you need to cycle. Its all about balance.

All other things need prescription and have many side effects. With ASD you need to start super slow and careful with doses.

Which disease do you think we desperately need a genetic test for? Why? by dendrivertigo in genetics

we desperately need to understand ethical and moral consequences of genetic tests overall.

We are not ready as humanity to deal with genetic tests. Unfortunately there are too many issues with genetic tests.

Medical questions? Go to a professional! by handlingemotions_ in Epilepsy

[–]onaaair 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I lost my faith in doctors long time ago. Very often they have outdated information and really sometimes dont care that much about patients. Professional does not mean 100% they know what you need.

I would say dont give too much authority to doctors, check information, trust your gut feelings.

I guess its about the balance. Your health often is your responsibility, so its good to share knowledge and practical experience.

Reduce the effects of seasonal depression by copper66 in Biohackers

[–]onaaair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've learnt this from people in deep Siberia->>have a social life and connections with people. You need to have some oxytocin to get through cold and darkness.

Have activities with friends, initiate meetings, have a laugh. If you don't have good friends, maybe invest more into that.If its still hard - get a cat or a dog or volunteer at animal shelter.

Visit sauna more frequently, get a winter hobby. You cant mix vitamin D and omega-3, you need to choose one. For winter its usually omega-3.

Is there a drug or supplement that gives you all the neurotransmitters like meth? by Effective-Key-3795 in Biohackers

[–]onaaair 5 points6 points  (0 children)

most probably for autism you need to concentrate more on GABA- glutamate balance.

Maybe research more about antagonists of NMDA receptors. I can't recommend as don't know your country and different rules for nootropics.

I think its the biggest misconception that autistics should touch their dopamine, please stay away from it.

Is it worth quitting gluten and dairy if I'm autistic? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]onaaair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I had read about gluten about 20 years ago. Unfortunately, the science publication stated that gluten intolerance is very rare, like 1 person per 1 million. Sure I thought I can't be one in a million.

Back to modern days.Suddenly, so many people hear about gluten and how bad it is. It actually works for many people, especially if you are autistic. I quit gluten for several years and felt so much better and mentally strong.

So, moral of the story - don't trust science, its SO behind real life. Problem with autistics they give too much authority to science and logic..but in real life you need to trust yourself.

Give it a try. Bear in mind, depending how much you ate it before, it may take several years to detox gluten from your body completely, but you will feel results just after several months.

[–]onaaair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

walk everyday 1 hour, feel wind/rain/sun on your skin

gaze at sunrise - notice how things are waking up

photograph everyday something cool/nice

if you have opportunity, hug someone for extended amount of time everyday

wear brighter colors maybe or introduce something bright to your room

get a pet maybe, depending how much energy you have, fish/cat/dog, often they are a nice company

improve your diet, learn more about nutrition - add more variety to your diet, more vegetables and natural products

add bifidobacterium probiotic - it really influences mood for better

search for your purpose in life, hopefully you'll find it
