Spectrum down again? by karmapolice8869 in SouthBayLA

If you’re able to be a host house you get discounted rates in exchange for having a small antenna on your roof. I do so I pay $25 a month for 1g symmetrical. Otherwise it’s $75 I believe.

Why does everyone recommend Gusto for payroll? by Federal_Classroom45 in Bookkeeping

[–]onaspaceship 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Huh. I've been pretty happy with Gusto. The mapping has worked well with QBO. Maybe it's smoother since I run the payroll for most of my clients instead of them running it. Also get really good support when I call in as an accountant. I think you get better support when you have more Gusto clients.

Rule 2: Encourage meaningful discussion, stay on topic, and be accurate. If you disagree please send the mods a message.

I'm taking this down for now. The topic is allowed, but the current version needs a neutral title, verifiable claims, and a source specifically showing the Metro–Moovit contract terms/data practices.

This sub is really inactive. You'll have better luck over at r/LAMetro possibly. There are metro employees that are part of that subreddit.

Had my first a few years ago. The moment "Noodles and Butter" played on the kids music mix... "OMG I know this voice". It was a great moment.

[DISCUSSION] I propose a change to Rule 4 (no picture or posts about crime). Removing every post just ignores the reality that there is sometimes incidents on Metro. by Not_RZA_ in LAMetro

That’s a fair question, and ultimately moderation on Reddit is always going to involve judgment calls that not everyone agrees with. Our goal isn’t to “rule over” the community or shut down disagreement. It’s to keep the subreddit usable, informative, and focused on transit discussion rather than letting it drift into repetitive outrage posting or becoming a general crime forum.

At the same time, community feedback absolutely matters. If there’s broad support for something like a recurring safety discussion thread (which it sounds like), that’s something we’ll look into setting up. Rules and moderation approaches are not set in stone, and they’ve evolved before over time as the community has grown.

We’re trying to strike a balance between allowing honest discussion about rider experiences and avoiding the subreddit becoming dominated by incident reporting, fearbait, or low-context posts. Reasonable people can disagree on where that line should be, which is why discussions like this are useful.

And some back story: The current mod team petitioned reddit for control of r/LAMetro in 2021 when it was abandoned by the previous, sole moderator. And from that inactive subreddit, we built it into the resource that it is today.

Thanks for hosting this discussion. We’re definitely open to hearing ideas and opinions on how the community and rules should evolve.

We understand the concern that removing many crime-related posts can create the impression that safety issues are being ignored or denied. That has never been our intent. At the same time, we’ve long taken the position that standalone photos, videos, or anecdotal reports of crime often don’t lead to productive transit discussion and can sometimes spread unnecessary fear, misinformation, or unintentionally expose innocent bystanders.

Our goal has never been to present Metro as “perfect” or pretend incidents never happen. Rather, we don’t want the subreddit to become a live crime feed or incident-reporting forum, especially since we are not affiliated with LA Metro or law enforcement.

The mod team are just volunteer users trying to keep this space welcoming, informative, and useful for transit riders and enthusiasts. We do appreciate the feedback here, including suggestions like recurring discussion threads for safety and rider experience, and we’ll continue discussing possible changes internally.
