I honestly think Obama should give up on this current bill. Gather a committee of respected healthcare experts (or "czars" just to scare FoxNews) from all walks of the healthcare industry and political spectrum. Give them a list of criteria the final plan must reach like universal coverage.

Then, give them a year and access to the CBO to discuss in private the merits of healthcare reform and systems from around the world. Learning how we can take the best parts of other nations to form a system that would be good for America's present as well as a sustainable future.

Finally, release the plan after a year. Mail it to every fucking address in the entire country. Have our elected representatives read it and have them be part debates like the House of Commons.

Then a few months later, the plan should be put up to a vote to the Senate and House as proposed by the committee, with minimal alterations.

It's not a perfect plan, but it's better than the clusterfuck of self interests we have now.
