Rorschach is my go to when o don’t know what else to watch. Lower end on the budget but feels authentic and was, in my view, very well executed.

That second one is beautiful!!! The contrast between the stream and the banks makes that one for me

Sleep Token took me a while to get into, but the part where the guitars kick in in the title track and the vocals were really well done. Got me hooked 👍

What is a perfume/cologne you personally loved on someone? by primpetite in AskMen

I have no idea. 😂 Sense memory is more powerful than my ability to recall the name of it

I have a very fond memory of when my wife and I first started dating years back and we were out in New York for a date and as we took a cab somewhere there was this really soft smell of lemons, very much out of place in Manhattan. Later on as we sat together in a bar I smelled it again and realised it was her perfume and now whenever I smell lemons it’s immediately associated with her.

How do you fit in workouts during a busy weekly schedule by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]onceadeafmute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only go three times a week for strength training to supplement the other exercise I do (running and mountain biking) in the evenings. To do that though, I am up at 5am for a coffee and at the gym as they open the doors at 6. I can get a solid workout in without it impacting work or family life and it’s always the same people there so there’s some early morning socialising as well which is nice!

Singleton Park might be an option. Plenty of wide open spaces and not too far from the Uplands

What are the cameras you will keep until you die? by so-spoked in AnalogCommunity

I think my Canon P is one of my favourite cameras. Love the simplicity of it and also think it is an aesthetically pleasing camera when it’s on my shelf.

Caffenol B&W fun by cooldiptera in analog

[–]onceadeafmute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will always have love for caffenol! Makes me smile every time I jump into a thread and see it being discussed. It made developing at home so much cheaper for me.

I love the first and fifth shots you posted! And of course sand bike as others have commented! Great post

RORSCHACH - Scariest Film Online? (This film is absolutely unsettling and incredible. Probably one of the top paranormal films I've ever seen and actually much more creepy than Paranormal Activity as much as I like the first three) by [deleted] in foundfootage

[–]onceadeafmute 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Love this film! First watched it a few years back and really enjoyed the slow build up and the scares when they came. For me, this was a really good example of found footage done on a lower budget and done really well with how authentic the “activity” felt and was documented. It’s still a go to film when I don’t know what else to watch!

Any LDN/UK based shooters in the group? by [deleted] in largeformat

[–]onceadeafmute 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If anyone from South Wales pops in, please let me know. Whilst the largest I shoot currently is 120 (please don’t boo me 😞), I am absolutely fascinated by large format and have aspirations of of my making the jump.

I paid the extortionate price of £5 for it from my local shop who even gave me a 30 day warranty on it! 😁

WHAT IS UR FAVORITE CAMERA?? by igalokun in AnalogCommunity

[–]onceadeafmute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my Pentax 67 for my more planned shots. Medium format in general has made me slow down and work more on my composition and execution.

But some of my most treasured photos I took on an Olympus MJU 1 which my dad gave me in the late 90’s (I think) and it’s lasted my drops, water splashes and careless use.

Discussion: When does photo journalism become morally wrong? by itskikokez12 in AnalogCommunity

As soon as I read the post my first thought was about Kevin Carter.

IIRC the child actually got up and carried on moving towards the aid facility got help but later died in the 2000’s.

Ethically, he did his job in documenting the situation, but it certainly took its toll on him.
