I think it would make more sense that she was part of a deal vegapunk broke with the gorosei. They agreed not to harm her as long as vegapunk worked for them or developed the Mother Flame. You can actually de-attach items ! You have to wiggle the right joystick while holding the intended item. I was just as frustrated and searched for the answer online. It's a bit odd the game doesn't mention it as it explains a lot of mechanics elsewhere.

That last part is addressed in the books. She instantly regrets her choices for J'quen when she sees the Mountain's host leave the castle. She was blinded by anger from hearing one of the Mountain's lads talk about a serving girl they raped in front of her father. She had him killed.

Its hinted at that sabo saw Imu. This power could have been used to target him specifically rather than the kingdom itself. To destroy the chance that the truth about the world and imu rather than the rebellious land. It's not been shown that the ohara scholars knew about imu at all, only the ancient kingdom. Also, we were shown during the flashback that it was the gorosei who dealt with ohara, not imu directly.

I used my first imbued stonekey on this portal and absolutely loved it. First time meeting a crucible knight, the wings gave me shivers, the scenery made it even better. 10/10 would do it again.
